BLUF: Can you change "Previous Year" in PoP charts to just be the actual year? I.e. Instead of "Previous Year", it would just say 2024.

Second, can you have Current Year, Last Year, AND this year budget all in the same single chart? My gut response is no - but I know it's the first thing my end users will ask so I want to explore and be ready with an answer.

Also, thanks to @david_cunningham, @ColemenWilson, and @MichelleH for getting me this far. I've posted a few other questions leading up to this and they helped me get to the finish line. @Domo, where's the GOAT 🐐 react??? We're waiting…

Thanks to those previously posted questions, I have got to where I am today.

I've got current year actual, last year actual, and current year budget all appended in the same big dataset.

Here's a look at 2024 compared to 2023. I want another series with budget for 2024.

Current Year Actual, Last Year Actual, and Budget :) There's lots of TLAs in this industry (three letter acronyms)

Bummer on changing the name on the legend - but I think your second answer could work. I'll just need to get away from the PoP charts and use a time-agnostic chart like multi-line or bar charts.

Thanks to @DashboardDude 's help, I got exactly where I needed to go:

I had to move away from a PoP chart and do a standard Bar Line Chart. Here's the BeastMode that did it:

CASE WHEN YEAR(`Date`) = (YEAR(CURDATE()) - 1) 
— this allows us to look at last year (a peculiar problem since the new year just churned
— and we are still looking at December's values 

  AND
 
`Actual or Budget` = 'Actual' THEN Charge Quantity

ELSE 0

END


— the AND let's us build on the conditionals so we can check for two conditions. 

— and finally, the THEN clause pulls the value we are actually trying to chart.
