MagicETL Recipes
We all have ETLs where we use common logic over and over again. I propose an idea to enhance MagicETL with something called 'Recipes'. A user could create a new recipe within Magic, add a series of tiles into it that do some common logical steps and save it with a given name (e.g.. 'Strip Whitespace and Split String'. Once saved, you would see your recipe on the tile selection pane in magic. When you drag that recipe onto the MagicETL canvas, all tiles within that recipe are recreated and pre-configured (minus column names etc).
Saving a recipe would tie that recipe to the user who created it so that any new MagicETLs that person creates has those recipes readily available in their tile selection pane. Similar to beast modes, you could then ask for that recipe to be certified. Once certified, any user creating MagicETLs will see those certified recipes.
This would allow organizations to build a library of Magic tips and tricks if you will… and help developers more rapidly work through common logical design patterns when developing ETLs.
Require filter selections
DOMO should really consider adding a feature to require an option selection by the user when a developer configures a page filter card. This would coerce the underlying dataset to subsetted in order to prevent double counting in some cases.
App Studio - Phone version won't turn to landscape view
I have created a handful of apps in App Studio that we are contemplating rolling out to our field teams (who primarily use DOMO on their cell phones). As I have been testing the apps I have been checking how they look on my cell phone (Google Pixel, Android phone for reference), and my phone will not show any content from the apps in landscape view, only portrait (I double checked that auto-rotate was turned on for my phone before testing).
I was able to turn my phone and see data in landscape view within the dashboards that we use, just not within any apps from App Studio.
I searched the Community Forums and saw a request that has been archived for iPad users to be able to look at data from App Studio in landscape view, but couldn't find anything specific for cell phone users.
Is this something that can be addressed? Thanks!!!

Offset DATETIME Data Based on Personal Time Zone
The documentation (https://domo-support.domo.com/minasan/s/article/360042934394?language=en_US) states that Updating your personal time zone doesn't offset any DATETIME data you are viewing in Domo to display in your personal time zone. Only the company time zone offsets any DATETIME data.
I'm really puzzled by this. If the company HQ is in Chicago, IL and there are offices in Europe, tough for the European offices? They get to view Domo reports in Eastern Time?
The best practice for handling DATETIME data is to store it in UTC. Domo already recommends this. Then they drop the ball and provide a single global setting for displaying the data, while providing a per-user setting that doesn't do anything (much). 🤦
Please finish the job and add offsetting DATETIME data per user based on their individual personal time zone setting.
Re: Sharing custom themes in App Studio
Custom themes are currently saved to an individual app.
To create custom theme, a user needs to select save as theme then it will store it to custom themes panel. We are working to add the capability to copy a theme from one app to another in the upcoming months that would let you use custom themes across different apps.
Current workaround is to duplicate the app and save that theme and use that new app!

Grouping beastmodes from different datasets in beastmode manager
Is there a way to group beastmodes from different datasets in the beastmode manager?
In our instance, we have multiple datasets that serve different business purposes but have the same name and beastmode formula. If we can group them together as one in the beastmode manager, it would not only better organize the beastmode manager but also update together when we make any new changes.
Dynamic Quadrant Lines in ScatterPlot
We need dynamic/smart quadrant lines in scatterplot. This feature is available in excel
Dynamic Conditional Formatting
Current conditional formatting is very useful, however still quite limited in functionality especially with numeric and date values as these are static. A current workaround for this is to utilise HTML tables, or create additional columns for above/below the required targets, which gets quite messy.
It would be hugely beneficial to have the ability to select a column or beast mode as the comparison value. Date values also should have the ability to be compared to the current date rather than a predetermined set date (which would also be able to be catered for by using a column/beast mode). In the case of the "between", this should enable the selection of 2 different columns/beast modes.
Enabling this functionality would provide a huge leap forward in control over the formatting with each row being able to have it's own formatting value/s set within the ETL/beast mode.
prioritize recent data for input datasets in dataflows for preview
We all run into the situation where we have two tables with hundreds of million of rows and we drop them in the dataflow and know that our join transforms will never match up. Could we get the most recent 10k rows from the input datasets rather than something seemingly random? That would really boost our ability to validate that SQL as we go along.
