How do we keep the changes we make to the people's DOMO name?
Hello DOMO -
Good Morning!
Recently we have new people in our group that we have appended (Trainer) in their names.
and we want to update their DOMO names as well.
but in DOMO, after sometime, there are names that revert and goes back to just their names without (Trainer) appended.
and there are some that don't.
We just can't figure out why other names revert and the other names keep the (Trainer) appended.

@WorldWarHulk Are you changing their name from their profile in the Admin People screen? Is it possible that you are not clicking save?

I think we need to see an example of how you are defining the names. I have never seen Domo change what I type in for name.
Why not use "title" for trainer? Or some other field to define it?

yes. we use OKTA.

Verify if the manual updates are being consistently saved. After saving, review and make sure you see (TRAINER). And make sure you have cleared the cache.
Check for Overwrites
Ensure that there are no processes or integrations that might be overwriting the manually updated names.Data Synchronization
Confirm that there’s no conflict between your manual updates and any automated synchronization processes.Permissions and Roles

There may be some kind of code issue occurring behind the scenes. Something we community users cannot identify for you. You should submit a ticket to Domo Support and provide them an example of one that is staying firm and one that is reverting. It may be that the parenthesis or something is causing an issue in the code behind the interface.

@WorldWarHulk I agree with all of @ArborRose's suggestions. I would also recommend checking the activity log for User Renaming events that have occurred, which may give you more information on what is going on.

We finally found the answer.
Basically we need to update the name from the profile page and not on the user info.
and the appended (Trainer) did not revert.1
