Hi, I am new to the tools within the governance toolkit. I have been doing some research but wondering if anyone has any use cases for, or explanations of the following tools:

Dataset Backup: Is this just a safety measure to take before you modify an existing dataset? If so, what would be the difference between this and utilizing the version history to go back to a previous version? Incase the dataset accidentally gets deleted completely?

PDP Automation: Is this a less manual way to create PDP policies versus individually typing users names or user groups and configuring PDP within the dataset settings? Does anyone have any specific benefits of this?

Any other tools within the toolkit that people enjoy/find beneficial?

    1. Dataset Backup - I haven't found a need to use this. Domo has version history where you can restore previous versions of datasets / etls. I guess you could get some use out of dataset backup if the version history isn't enough.
    2. PDP Automation - Very useful if you have PDP on your datasets. PDP can be used to create selective views of a dataset. For example, if you want a manager at a store to only view information for their store and hide all the other stores. Every visual / dashboard they see will be filtered according to the PDP policy. You could also create tiered levels of access where store managers view their store only, regional managers can see the whole region, and corporate managers can see all the stores and regions. The benefit of using PDP is that everyone can be looking at the same dashboard but seeing different information. This reduces the # of dashboards and time you need to spend maintaining / updating the front end visuals. It also increases the cohesiveness of your dashboards, which is very important for user experience. PDP automation removes the need to assign PDP rules manually, saving a lot of time if PDP is something you use in your Domo.
