Beast mode case change based on whether or not a filter is in use

Hey all,

Is there a way for me to use a beast mode to calculate a COUNT when a filter is not in use but to use a COUNT(DISTINCT) when a specific filter is in use or when a filter is applied on a dashboard around a specific field?

Beast modes cannot be written to detect the state of filters. Currently there is no

CASE WHEN €filter€ = x THEN COUNT(y) ELSE COUNT(DISTINCT y)

type of logic available.
