Bing Ads API v12

Microsoft recently contacted us that we are using a soon to be deprecated version of Bing Ads API.  We use Bing connector version 2.115 on Domo.  Are you using v12 of the Bing Ads API?   After Feb 5 they will not support v12.

  • @user00820 - According to the connector FAQs it's utilizing v13.

This connector uses version 13 of the Bing Ads API (https://bingads.microsoft.com).

You shouldn't need to worry issues with v12 being deprecated

  • Of course after I posted my original response I run into issues with the Bing connector. They did roll out a new version on yesterday which will now break any old connections with authentication errors. You'll need to go into the azure portal and create a new application and get a new secret and application id but it's fairly well documented on the connector page under the FAQs. I was able to get it up and running with little trouble.

    Hi @GrantSmith,

Could you please describe in more detail how you set up the Azure application and got it to work?

I have been following this guide: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/advertising/guides/get-started?view=bingads-13#quick-start and have managed to get to the point where I input the code into the PowerShell console to link between Bing Ads and the application I created.  However, then I'm getting an error message that says that the client secret must be part of the request.

I have a support ticket in with Microsoft, but they're telling me they are unsure of the solve for the issue.  Any info you can provide about how you set things up would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!
