DP Feature Release preview
Hard to believe it is already almost Domopalooza week. We are pushing a ton of cool stuff next week (and some sneaks up our sleeves also)….Those hard core Domo dorks who are in Domo on a Friday afternoon may have noticed in product announcements that listed the features. Posting them here as well as I know they go away and then people want them back.
Revision history versions for Card
Hello Team,
I'm writing to propose an enhancement to Domo's version history feature. Currently, it's challenging to track changes made to cards (present in highly sensitive dashboards) over time, especially when multiple users are involved.
It would be highly beneficial if we could have a detailed version history that not only shows the original data but also each subsequent change made. For instance, if a user initially creates a card and another user later makes significant modifications, it would be helpful to see these as separate versions in the history.
The original data could be marked as Version 1, and each significant change could be marked as a new version. This would enable us to track the evolution of the data and the modifications made at each stage.
Having this feature would greatly aid in maintaining data accuracy and integrity. It would allow us to revert to previous versions if recent changes prove to be inaccurate or if we need to reference earlier data.
Your consideration of this enhancement is greatly appreciated.
PDP for Admins
PDP is a critical security feature that prevents unauthorized non-admin users from accessing sensitive datasets. A secondary benefit to PDP however is that it is a great way to curate a dashboard so the user sees a pre-filtered view of only the data that is relevant to them, even if they are authorized to see all of the data in the dataset.
This secondary benefit does not apply to admin users who, by default, have access to all of the rows in the dataset regardless of PDP policy. In order to give admin users a similar curated experience, it would be great if there was an option on a dataset to expand the PDP to all users regardless if they are an admin or not. This is not intended to be a security feature because it of course could be modified by an admin user. The intent is to allow the dataset to be used to curate the data for admin users just as it does for non-admins.

Disable Automatic Archiving for "Inactive" Datasets on Individual Basis
Domo will archive inactive datasets if they have not been accessed in over 30 days. Domo defines "accessed" as not being "used and viewed regularly in Cards or Dashboards".*
We have several datasets that exist for use outside of Domo. These datasets are only accessed via API. This means our datasets will be archived due to perceived inactivity, despite regular use via API. Once archived, the API cannot access the dataset, which breaks some of our programs and creates inefficiencies and confusion.
It would be ideal if API calls to a dataset would count toward the dataset's activity. But if we could have a feature that allowed admins to exclude specific datasets from automatic archiving, that would also solve the problem.

Rotate Text in Textbox on Dashboard
Hi,
It would be super helpful for dashboard formatting if we could rotate text in textboxes on dashboards.
Thanks!
Re: showing record with max date
There may be other ways to do this, but I would start by ranking the dates and then filtering the data to only include the max date for each ID.

Support for multiple delimiters in CSV for use in European countries
A significant number of countries do not use a comma as a delimiter for CSV files. The inability to select an alternate delimiter such as a semicolon cause issues in these countries.
API Log in DomoStats
We want to do an audit of datasets accessed via API calls, as well as the clients using those calls, and I was amazed that this isn't logged as part of DomoStats (or the deprecated (?) Domo Governance datasets). I am recommending that this be added either through DomoStats or some other mechanism.

Scatter Chart with Non-Numeric Y-Axis
This Scatter Chart's Y-Axis is a count of the number of Days of Excess Annual Leave (EAL) - and, just for context, the Bubble Size indicates how many Employees have that many days of EAL, and the colours (or 'colors' for Domo HQ 😁) categorise the severity of each cohort. As the attached image shows, the chart is quite congested when there's a lot of variation between the precise aggregate values.
I'd like to replace the precise number on the Y-Axis, with Groups / Categories - i.e. 0-10 Days / 11-20 Days / 21-30 Days, etc
However, the Domo Scatter Chart only allows numeric values on the Y-Axis.
Allowing Non-Numeric values on the Y-Axis would allow for 4-Dimensional visualisations without the congestion/clutter.
👑The Legendary Head Dude— John Le— Finally Ascends to Coach Status!
If you were wondering why the Earth shook yesterday, it's because the Head Dude himself finally hit coach status. John Le, better known on the forum as @DashboardDude, is a certified Domo celebrity. If you've been around the community long enough, there's no doubt that you've heard his name come up at least a few dozen times.
It may come as a surprise to you that John wasn't a coach this whole time. The truth is, John has always been a Domo pro and we've been reaping the benefit of his expertise and creativity for a while now. He has spoken at Domopalooza, participated in multiple community meetups, and has a growing YouTube channel with dozens of helpful Domo videos. Not to mention, John is also a fantastic cook. We're thrilled to have him as a community coach and for his continued support. Congratulate John by leaving a comment down below. 👇️
