1. Set Up a Google Analytics Account and Obtain Access
Make sure you have access to the Google Analytics account and specific views or properties you want to analyze. You will need permission to connect to Domo.
2. Navigate to the Google Analytics Connector in Domo
- Go to Data Center by clicking the Data option on the top menu.
- Click on Connectors to access the list of available data connectors.
- In the search bar, type Google Analytics. Select Google Analytics (or Google Analytics 4 if you're using GA4) from the list.
3. Authenticate with Google Analytics
Once you select the Google Analytics connector:
- Click Get the Data.
- You’ll be prompted to authenticate your Google account. Choose the Google account associated with the Google Analytics property you want to analyze.
- Follow the prompts to allow Domo to access the data from Google Analytics.
4. Set Up the Dataset in Domo
- After authentication, select the view or property in Google Analytics that contains the data you want to use.
- Choose metrics and dimensions you wish to pull into Domo (e.g., Sessions, Users, Bounce Rate, etc.).
- Set the data timeframe (like daily, weekly, or monthly) and any filters (like device category, user type, etc.).
- Configure the update schedule to decide how frequently you want this data to refresh in Domo (hourly, daily, etc.).
5. Save and Run the Data Connection
- Once all fields are configured, click Save and Run to start the data import process.
- Domo will create a Dataset from the Google Analytics data.
6. Create Visualizations and Analyses in Domo
- After the data import, navigate to the Data Center and find your new Google Analytics dataset.
- Use this dataset to build cards, dashboards, or other visualizations for your test analysis in Domo.
- You can now perform analyses on the imported data, combining it with other datasets or using Domo’s built-in analytics tools.
