How to pull data in DOMO from an API endpoint
Hi,
We have a usecase where we want to pull calculated values (and not persisted database values) by an external system into DOMO. The calculated value is not persisted in the external SQL system and DOMO cannot do the calculation using raw data. Eg. we want to pull effective price of items where the prices are a complex calculation handled by this external system.
In our case, this external system exposes an endpoint to return calculated values.
Does DOMO has a connector which can pull data from an API endpoint?
Are there any other design patterns to consider?
Thanks

Hi @PD ,
If the calculation is a field in the API, then Domo can pull it. So yeah I'd do all your complex calculations upstream and then pull in that field into Domo using the JSON API connector.
Let me know if that makes sense

There's several different JSON connectors you can use to connect to the API depending on your authentication method (assuming your endpoint uses JSON). These KB articles may be helpful for your use case.
Basic JSON
JSON Connector with Custom Parsing
JSON Advanced Connector:

Hi @PD
If you have a complex requirements & an external system not listed as connector in Domo and nothing works, then I suggest you try Jupyter Workspace. It has super flexibility with python in terms of fetching data, transformation and you can do anything you want.
Thanks!

Thanks @DashboardDude . Can you give me an example of a connector or an approach to do this?
