Admin plugin for excel - having issue connecting I hav

I have downloaded and installed the admin plug in to excel.  However, when I try to add an account, I can get to the part where I log in, it works using SSO - I get a web page saying it is ok to close it, but then when I go back to excel it says there was an unexpected error and the account is not added.  I have tried it at least a 1/2 a dozen times with the same result.  Is it because the sign in is through active directory?
