Can the iOS auto refresh?

I want to be able to set up my iPad on my desk so that it is showing key metrics throughout the day using the mobile app.  I'm noticing that without my interacting with the cards the view doesn't just automatically refresh like the webpage does in a normal browser.

Am I missing a setting, doing something wrong, or does the iOS app simply not auto-refresh?
