CourseBuilder Metadata

Hi All,
I've built a coursebuilder app and published it, I would like to manage and track completion - it's for training documentation. I would access to a dataset that tells me who has view it, the completion % and any other interesting factors (dwell time etc). Ideally I don't want to venture into using Google Analytics.

I've noticed that I can breeze through each page and it doesn't affect the completion %. How can this be managed to ensure takes are complete and videos watched prior to scoring 100% completion?

All help appreciated.
Nate

Hey Nate! Google Analytics is currently the only way to track progress. Tracking who each individual is isn't currently possible. @Ashleigh correct me if I am wrong?

Our team has switched to building trainings using other LMS tools and them embedding into Domo. If you are on consumption you could also add another instance to be an education sandbox.

Hi @ColemenWilson thanks, how would adding an education sandbox to another instance look? Why would this be better?

    I've just watched @Ashleigh 's presentation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWRDkXo1AuU

Seems like you were able to get indivudal email addresses if you used Google Analytics. I'll have a think and speak with the team.

  • @NateBI that was true historically, but with GA4 that ability has been lost. At least the last time I spoke with @Ashleigh that was the case.

If you are on consumption you can add instances for some amount of credits per month, reach out to your CSM/AE for details. We like having the separate instance for education so that they can follow along with trainings before we actually change their role in the main/production instance. It also prevents them from doing any damage before they have received sufficient training.
