Excel addin

Hello, I'm using the Domo/Excel addin. It was working fine at first, but now, when we refresh the data sets, in the excel section, the dataset refresh date changes, but the data does not. I can go look at the table card in Domo, it's different than what is displayed in Excel. In fact, if I open the data set in Excel, which it will allow you to do, you can see different data than what is in the Excels cells. Thanks for the help.

    @Cbrack are you still experiencing this issue? I ran into some issues myself with the Excel connector, but they seemed to have resolved themselves as of this morning.

    Thanks David. Yes, as of this morning i was still having the same issue. Data would refresh on the dataset if i looked at the card in Domo, but Excel would always have the same information from a few days agon.

    Are you pulling data from Domo into Excel, or are you trying to push data from Excel into Domo?

    Have you tried breaking and re-establishing the connection?

    Pull only. Yes, I've tried that and I also tried creating a brand new sheet, placing that table in the sheet. When it first loads, it has the correct data, because you can see it come in correctly. When I click refresh, it refreshes with old data.

    What happens if you try setting up the connection on a brand new workbook rather than a new sheet?

    Yes, tried that. I created a totally new workbook, same thing.

    Hello, I don't seem to be getting anywhere with Domo technical support. Are there any others who have experienced the same issue? Data tables added to Excel do not change when the data refreshes?

    Cbrack, thanks for posting your problem…I'm running into a similar problem with the Excel Addin. My issue has to do with filters that I have on various cards (so similar to your date range selection problem) and when I go to refresh a card that I've been using for the last 12 months or so, it'll download all of the data as though I did not have a filter on the card. I tried turning the filters on/off of the existing cards and it didn't solve the problem. I also went down the path of adding new sheets and opening up new Excel workbooks and the initial download of the data with the filters applied would work but any time I refresh, it would be as though I didn't have a filter on the card. I've just started working with Support and one of their solves works and that is using the "Filter View" and applying the same filter to all of the cards in the Excel file. While it works, it doesn't help me with the files that have a number of cards with a bunch of unique filters applied to each card (I would need to create individual files for each unique set of filters that I would want on a card or cards). I'll follow up if I end up with a better solution. My guess is that the latest App Version 2.0.20 that had a Build Date of 6/21/24 has screwed up some portion of the population using the Excel Addin…so you are not alone and hopefully we can come up with a solution that resolves this problem.     fpa_720(Sorry not sure of your name). I tried creating a new dashboard, creating a new copy of the card on the new dashboard, same result. Once I hit refresh, the data changes to the incorrect(prior) numbers. So I added a filter for the view, just made on up for "today", same. The only thing I've not tried is creating a brand new data source, in my case a table.

    We are having a lot of issues with the Add-In. Has anyone gotten an update on what is causing these issues? We use these tool a lot for reporting and it putting us at a huge road-block with it not working properly

    No update. I've only spoken to support and we did have a post support help. To be honest, as of now, it's 'in the queue'. For me, it's very important, the reports we have built are not useable so it's putting us in a big bind. Having to go back to old methods. I wish it could be elevated to a next level. I'm not sure how to do that as of now, i've gotten our Success Manager to help but it feels like her hands are tied too.

    Cbrack and user15204 - thanks so much for following up and if you haven't already…please submit Support Tickets and also reach out to your Customer Success Managers to let them know that you have a problem and need this issue raised to the Tier II Support Team. My best guess is that there is a bug in the latest release of the AddIn that was not caught before being pushed out into the wild and the bug is causing the filter function on individual Domo cards that you have setup using the Excel Plugin to not work at all / correctly. But if you wanted to go down the path of setting up a filter using "Filter View" that will impact your entire Excel file (for me this is a nonstarter as I would go from having a handful of Excel files that I refresh to like 50 unique files that I'd need to update), then whatever filter you need/want for your Domo card(s) would then update correctly.

    Apparently my case has been passed along to the Tier II Support team and I've provided them with the relevant documentation, screenshots, etc. of the issues I'm dealing with. I'll follow up with additional updates but again, I'd recommend you submit your own tickets as well to highlight that this is not a one-off problem where all you need to do is uninstall / reinstall the Addin and everything will work as intended.

    Still nothing on my issue from engineering team. Very disappointing to me. This is critical, the add-in doesn't work and provides wrong information with no warning.

    A Level 2 support team member reached out EOD on Wednesday to say that an app engineer was assigned to the problem and that an update would be provided over the next 5 business days. So my hope would be that we have an update by mid-week next week.

    I'm having the same issue and also have a support ticket it. My ticket is not as far as along but I didn't see this post when I searched previously.

    Same version 2.0.20 and none of the filtering will work when you hit the refresh button. Hoping for a quick resolution.
