How to add Date Control for Apps?

You know how every dashboard comes with an automatic Date control in the top-right corner?

I'm looking for a way to add that to an App where I have a few cards all using the same Date field. I need the exact same functionality where you can select a range, select how the date is broken down (by Week, by Month, etc).

@AO3 there should be a control button that you can add to the app in the top-right corner:

The Quick Date filter does not support custom apps.

EDIT - I guess I should get clarification. This section is for custom apps are you referring to those or are you looking for App Studio help which would be a different section?
