Conditionally formatting colors of horizontal bar chart for over/under budget
I am trying to figure out how to conditionally format my "Actual" sales either green/red for over/under "Budget" by location. Is this possible? I know this may have to be done with a beast mode (unsuccessful so far) as it cannot be done in chart properties.

You can use the Color Rules to do this. This is found in the chart properties. It would look something like this.

Hi @davidwong ,
Just to clarify, you want the blue bars to change to red or green dependent on if an actual hits a target number right? However, is that target different per location or is the same across the board?

John @DashboardDude, that is correct. So I would need a conditional format or beast mode of some sort. The color rules wouldn't work because they are stagnant number inputs I believe (like greater than #, or less than #). Any insights?

Hmm yeah I don't think this chart is going to work for you because of the stagnant color. However if you use the bullet chart, you can set different goals per item. So that way you can see if something passes the goal or not.
It's an option: You can see horizontal bullet charts on this page I made

Gotcha, I experimented with the bullet visualization at one point but there's too much variation in each of my locations' (y axis) target value (budget). I appreciate the response.
