Resources for the more code-y parts of setting up a dataflow (MySQL/RegEx/JSON)

I don't have a robust coding background but I'm trying to learn. I've noticed a few parts of the domo interface have more hard-coding skills (filters for GA connections use JSON, beastmodes using MySQL, RegEx for text searching etc.) What are some good resources for the types of coding that work within the Domo interface? My priority is writing my own MySQL beastmode queries and doing more sophisticated RegEx.

This is a front-end helper for developing the correct parameters.

 

RegEx: https://regexr.com/

This is an intuitive interface that lets you test regular expressions, with live pattern matching and explanatory tooltips.

 

MySQL: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/

This is the reference manual that has all the detail you'll pretty much ever need.  Luckily, beast mode also has some helps in the editor window.
