Pie Chart Sorting?

I have a set of categories that I would like to display in a specific order in a pie chart, but no matter what I do the pie slices are always ordered by biggest slice to smallest slice.  I have tried writing a variety of beast mode sort calculations to address this but nothing happens when I apply the sort.  Am I missing something, or is sorting not an option for pie charts?
