Re: Having Multiple Group By tiles?
- To have 2 independent groupings (Group By) , you will definitely need 2 separate grouping tiles
- The reason why Minimum and Maximum is not showing up in the aggregation type is due to the field type you are using. Min and Max option only show when aggregating not TEXT fields… if you use an INTEGER , TIMESTAMP, FLOATING DECIMAL or any other different to TEXT, the min and max option will be available
DomoAI Q&A from Domopalooza
The product team enjoyed answering questions from the audience during the final session at Domopalooza. Below you will find the answers to all questions related to DomoAI (including those that weren't mentioned on stage).
Q: Will DomoAI train on my data?
A: No Domo will not train on your data. Some of our features will request your feedback to improve the quality of our AI, but we will never train on customer data.
Q: Can Workflow AI components be trained on an existing KB?
A: Yes this is on the roadmap. We will be able to store unstructured data in domo and Utilize it with AI.
Q: Can AI build a chart if I tell AI what I need to be in the chart?
A: Yes AI can. Use AI Chat or AI App Generation and tell AI how to build the chart.
Q: If we have a knowledge base in confluence, how do we use Domo.ai to create chatGPT ddx brick to allow our users to ask questions and get answers?
A: We can use our ai service layer to achieve this. We just released a Domo Brick to do this that.
Q: When using DomoGPT, does it work on specific datasets, or can it query across multiple datasets to find the answer? How does it know which dataset to pull from?
A: We can specify specific datasets to use in the "focus" section. We use what you are looking at to determine the datasets to use for chat. We use AI and column names to find the best datasets. Right now AI will only use 1 dataset to find the answer (multiple datasets on the roadmap).
Q: What is the most interesting or your favorite use case you've come across using Domo + AI?
A: There are some many great usecases. From exploring your data with AI Chat, Deploying custom models and using them in ETL.
Q: When DOMOGPT is available, how user friendly will it be? Specifically, will we need coding knowledge to fine tune DOMOGPT on our data?
A: DomoGPT is coming this summer. You will not need to fine tune DomoGPT to use the model.
Q: What's the best way to present Domo's AI abilities to non-technical executives and sales leaders at my company to prove its value?
A: AI Chat is a great place to start. AI Chat shows how quickly we can gain insights into our data. Showing the AI Service Layer settings are a great way to discuss security and using responsible AI.
Q: How can you making the Universal Models feel like less of a black box?
A: Universal models expose all the parameters and are configurable. Universal Models can be swapped out with your own Model. When swapping the Model you can still leverage all the in-product functionality.
Q: With this AI hype it almost feels like 2010 of BIGDATA hype, How do we manage the expectations around AI with Executive Senior Leadership?
A: The easiest way to set expectations is to define your use case. Many times AI is seen as a "magical" solution that can do everything. And because of this we naturally keep the scope of the work needed very large. Narrowing down our scope and defining one use case is the best way to understand, the work needed, timeline and what is possible in order to set the correct expectations.
Q: When the AI model is switched to HuggingFace or OpenAI from Domo’s in-house model, how is security handled around data sharing with that source? What do they actually see?
A: If a user is using a 3rd party provider, data will be sent to the 3rd party provider. If using your own account for a 3rd party provider, you are responsible for managing your account and staying up-to-date on the 3rd party's SLA's.
Q: Can I ask Domo.AI questions about any dataset or page?
A: Yes, Domo.AI Chat knows what dataset or page you are looking at or you can manually add additonal focus items. All Domo.AI functions take into account your Domo permissions. If you do not have permissions to a dataset or page you will not be able to use Domo.AI Chat with it.
Q: Can I use my own model in Domo?
A: Yes, Domo Model Management allows users to connect to their model providers and import their models into Domo to use throughout the product. You can create your own custom model in Domo Jupyter. If you don't have any models of your own, Domo has several Universal Models that are available by use.
Q: Will Domo.AI send any data to 3rd party providers?
A: No. The models Domo provides for Domo.AI are hosted by Domo and no data will be sent to 3rd parties. Domo AI Service Layer allows you to swap Domo models for your own. If you wish to use a 3rd party model instead of Domo's provided models, then data will be sent to the 3rd party provider.

APP STUDIO Q&A from Domopalooza
The product team enjoyed answering questions from the audience during the final session at Domopalooza. Below you will find the answers to all questions related to App Studio (including those that weren't mentioned on stage).
Q: Back in the day, form builder and inline dataset editor were some of the coolest apps for collecting or modifying data, are there any plans to productize those types of capabilities officially?
A: Yes, there are plans to continue adding more functionality to the Forms that are available for Workflows and App Studio. We'll continue to bring more of the advanced capabilities that Form Builder offers into the native Domo forms.
Q: During the AppStudio demo they showed the Thayne app as if it were a native iPhone app, will we be able to publish AppStudio apps to the iOS/Google stores, how will this work?
A: Yes, there are plans in the future in the coming months to be able to publish an App Studio App into the Apple Store and Google store. Very cool!
Q: Will DDX Bricks work in App Studio apps? and also when embedded via Domo Everywhere?
A: Yes! Bricks are fully compatible with AppStudio.
Q: Please tell me how much App Studio costs? I need this now!?
A: No cost, this feature was released yesterday to all customers.
Q: Is there functionally a difference between using the app studio and a dashboard?
A: Both can display cards in a layout. App Studio adds custom navigation, packaging multiple pages under one destination, forms widget, and themes (greater control of looks of components). Dashboards are still good for more static reports and emailing out reports.
Q: Is App Studio (Pro-Code) going to replace Domo Bricks?
A: App Studio Pro is meant to replace the Domo Bricks Editor. It will provide all the same benefits as Domo Bricks but remove a lot of the limitations. There will be an upgrade path to allow users to move existing Bricks to App Studio Pro and the Bricks Editor will eventually be deprecated.
Q: Are there any examples of companies using app studio to transition from observing domo data & working in another platform, to working IN domo? Could working IN Domo (with buttons/writebacks) be the future of Domo?
A: YES!!! This is the vision of AppStudio. Companies do this with Pro Code Apps, AppStudio brings this to the no code world.
Q: When should I use the Domo Brick editor vs. App Studio Pro?
A: App Studio Pro is meant to replace the Domo Bricks Editor. It will provide all the same benefits as Domo Bricks but remove a lot of the limitations. There will be an upgrade path to allow users to move existing Bricks to App Studio Pro and the Bricks Editor will eventually be deprecated.
Q: When should I use App Studio vs. App Studio Pro?
A: App Studio is a low-code drag and drop interface that can provide a lot of great functionality for less technical users. However, there will be times when there are limitation to App Studio that may require a full code experience to get around. This is when you can create an app in App Studio Pro. Pro apps can be added to App Studio apps so they can work together.
Q: When will “schedule reports” be available for app studio?
A: We are still exploring a few options and the best way to go about supporting Scheduled reports in App studio. Currently, it is not have a date on our roadmap.
Q: Can you remove the filter icons from app studio dashboards like you can now on standard dashboards?
A: Yes, the option exists under Page settings(shows up when you click on the page layout) > Filter options
Q: Will we get an undo button on app studio?
A: Have talked about supporting an undo button in the future, not on our short term roadmap as of now.
Q: Do app studio apps have version control or ability to revert changes?
A: No version control as of now. You can revert changes by editing the app but it will not show up as a new version of the app. (It works similar to a dashboard in that manner).

Miscellaneous Q&A from Domopalooza
The product team enjoyed answering questions from the audience during the final session at Domopalooza. Below you will find the answers to all questions related to Sandbox, Beast Modes, Consumption, Learn Domo and more (including those that weren't mentioned on stage).
Q: Are all the new updates available to those NOT on the consumption model? Workflows, App Studio, AI…
A: We are all-in on the consumption model. If you're not, please talk to your account executive.
Q: What’s the future of the semantic/metadata layer in Domo?
A: We are actively working toward a solution, and soliciting feedback from multiple customers in the process. We look forward to sharing more as it develops.
Q: I am a developer, I use version control daily in my work. How does Domo do change management/version control for its Domo instances, ETLs, Cards, etc?
A: This is supported by Sandbox, which allows you to create content in a Development environment, then migrate it to your production environment. Sandbox supports, ETL's Cards, Pages, Dataviews and connectors. Sandbox also tracks versions of content and allows for rollback in production if needed.
Q: How difficult is it to onboard the Sandbox environment? Can I turn my current instance into the sandbox instance?
A: Domo Sandbox enables migration of content between instances. It is easy to set up a new DEV instance or even set up a new PROD instance and use your current instance as the DEV instance.
Q: My organization uses a DEV and PROD environment for its SDLC, can that be extended into Domo?
A: Domo supports having separate DEV and PROD instances. Check out Sandbox and Governance Toolkit featuresSpeak with your account team to find out more.
Q: Any plans to be add the ability to run SQL queries on datasets directly from PHP?
A: Domo supports APIs that can be used to query datasets using a variety of languages.
Q: What would you recommend to someone starting with DOMO with no developer or technical experience? What is the best approach to begin learning?
A: The Domo Community Forums are a great place to start. Knowledge base articles provides great articles. We also offer Domo Free which is available to try out the platform without cost. Just jump into Domo and give it a shot. It was built for business users first.
Q: Can DomoStat datasets be ran without using a credit (if you are in consumption model)?
A: Currently this is something we are considering implementing.
Q: Are folders or a different way to organize and manage Beast Modes a possibility???
A: As of right now the plan for the V1 of workspaces does not include Beast Modes as a feature you can organize with folders, but it is on the list of entities to add in future versions.
Q: For customers on the consumption model- Any plans to rollover unused credits that customers have paid for but haven’t used?
A: Credits expire at the end of the allocation time. Standard credits typically last a year and all other types are allocated (and expire) monthly.
Q: What's the difference between Workspaces and pdp?
A: A workspace includes more than just access to data, it also includes access to content. So adding a dashboard to a workspace will automatically share it and its cards with everyone in the workspace, and if it is removed from the workspace the dashboard and all of its cards are unshared with the people in the workspace. PDP is a level of protection on top of the sharing of content like usual.
Q: How do we efficiently clean up the crazy number of beast modes that now exist in our instance?
A: The Beast Mode manager provides insights into Beast Modes and their respective cards / Pages. You can also manage Beast Modes in bulk using the manager. There are also multiple Domostats available that provide insights into which are currently being used and where.
Q: Besides App studio or AI what other features are you guys most excited about?
A: Universal Models (Forecasting, outlier detection, PII Detection) and many different product itegrations that are focused on helping you gain valuable insights faster.
Q: When do we get columnar PDP?
A: Column masking limited beta in May - full rollout Summer.
Q: Does DOMO offer onboarding training?
A: Yes! Check out Domo University or Talk to your account team about training offerings by Domo's Education team.
Q: When is Git Integration coming? This is in regard to all areas where code is involved, i.e., Jupyter, Code Engine, and other pro-code tiles across the platform.
A: We don't have any plans for this just yet, but this is a great suggestion.
Q: Could you demo the PowerPoint embedding?
A: Talk to your account team to schedule a demo of this functionality.
Q: There is so much available in Domo, what is the best way to find features that might be useful?
A: In the consumption model, customers have access to the advanced Domo feature sets. In addition to discovery, Knowledge Base articles are a great way to learn about features.

Re: Dynamic Chart Height
Need this big time. We have dozens of dashboards that get emailed out weekly and daily to top clients. Each dashboard always has at least a couple cards that are too tall (white space) or too short (rows missing). You can imagine this looks unprofessional and confusing - not a good look for our company.

Re: Customizing Pivot Table columns
So it sounds like your data is currently like this:
ID | Month | Sales | LBs | Cases
A | Jan | $5 | 2 | 7
To be able to do what you're describing, I think you'd have to unpivot (use the dynamic unpivot in MagicETL) so the structure is even longer. Like this:
ID | Metric | Month | Value
A | Sales | Jan | $5
A | LBs | Jan | 2
A | Cases | Jan | 7
Then in your pivot table you could set your Metric and Month as the columns, and the Value as the value.
Re: Reloading Recursive Dataflow Data
You'll want to use the data repair feature. Add this exact string to the end of the URL of the DataSet:
?_f=dataRepair
Then, you'll now have a new tab on the DataSet called Data Repair. Navigate to it. Now, you should have all the tools and options to do what you need. It'll let you delete updates, replace updates with a CSV, etc. Then, when you're done, you can remove the feature so people can't mess with the data by adding this string to the end of the URL:
?-_f=dataRepair

Re: How to reduce Magic ETL run time
When I'm developing ETLs I like to be a teapot - Short and Stout.
Short
Reduce the dataset size to the smallest you need before doing any more processing. Have a filter tile be your first tile or use a Dataset View to pre-filter your dataset and then use that as your input (this will cause less data to be transferred to Magic ETL engine reducing the execution time. Also by using an Alter Columns or Select Columns to only use the columns you need for the ETL will also help reduce the amount of data the ETL needs to process
Stout
This doesn't mean make your dataset wide with a bunch of columns but we want to be wide and leverage Magic ETL's parallel processing powers. Rather than having a single pipe that you're joining multiple datasets to one at a time do multiple joins or multiple different operations on the datasets before you do a join. For example if I have four tables, customers, orders, order line items, products. Instead of Joining customers to orders and then joining that output to line items and then joining that output to products you'd instead join Customers and orders together in one pipe and at the same time join the line items to the products and then joining those two outputs together. This will allow Domo to do multiple operations at the same time reducing your processing time.
