Re: Expand/collapse rows only working for first level of pivot
I am having the same issue with a pivot table. I copied a card I created last month (using Save As), changed the measures to beast modes versus the built in aggregate functions, then noticed I could no longer save in the expanded view like my original card. I also reset chart properties and now it's expanding as it had before.
Re: I'm pulling in a column from Salesforce that has over 1024 characters - Text column type limit
We had this limit in one of our datasets. The only way around it was to ask our CSM to increase the column size limit. They can do it on a case-by-case basis.
Re: API string question
It appears to be an issue with the connector itself not sending the API token properly. You'll need to log a ticket with Domo support to have them look into it.
You could attempt to leverage the JSON No Code connector and configure it yourself.
Re: Max Rank by Month and Year for Volume Metric
First, what does the raw data looks like? and then if you can do a doodle or something of what your desired visual would be? The reasons I'm asking this is because it seems to me you're talking about 3 different cards which you can put together in a dashboard to show all these entries.
There are also some key things you might want to consider, like the top month overall might be say Feb2023, but if you apply a filter to only a subset of the data this might no longer be true, and March2023 might have a higher volume after the filter is applied, so when you say Month with the Highest Volume do you mean overall or for the specific data you're looking into? This changes whether this needs to be done via ETL or a Beast Mode. Also when you're talking about Highest, is this highest all time or highest on a given window, and if the latter, is that window fixed like Last 6 Months or 1 Year, or is this something you expect your users to be able to adjust via a variable?
Taking a shoot in the dark, you'll need at least 2 Beast Modes for this:
Beast Mode to classify all entries as either "Current Month", "Highest Month" or "Other", this will be used to filter so that you only show entries for the first 2 options.
CASE
WHEN DATE_FORMAT(`dateColumn`,'%y%m')=DATE_FORMAT(CURDATE(),'%y%m') THEN 'Current'
WHEN <LOGIC TO IDENTIFY HIGHEST MONTH> ELSE 'Other'
END
One that will tell you the day of the month each date falls into
DAY(`dateColumn`)
With this you'd build your card using the 1st BeastMode as your Series and the second as your X axis with Values being whatever you're measuring (in this case volume).
The only downside with this approach is that if the Current Month also happens to be the Highest, only a single bar/line will be presented.
I'd strongly suggest the flag for highest month to be handled via ETL as there you can use the Rank and Window tile for this purpose and your Beast Mode logic will be kept fairly simple, of course this only works if the Highest should be the global one and not one that is responsive to filters.
Re: Bar Graph Sorting
In the Chart Properties under General, set Sort On Totals to descending. This will make your chart group by the overall total and not the individual items.
Re: Bell Curve - Large Data
The first thing that jumps out at me that might be throwing off the histogram chart is that you have something in the Sorting properties. Try removing that and see if that allows it to distribute better.
If you haven't looked at the KB article, this can be helpful in understanding how the chart is intended to function.

With so many sizes, I wonder if a Word Cloud chart might be easier for a user to digest. You might want to look at that chart.
Re: Sort Table based on What was first selected in Filter
The following example works as follows. Select a state such as New York, it sorts with New York first…then the others. Select a second state like Colorado, it sorts by Colorado, New York…then the rest. Select Ohio, it sorts Ohio, Colorado, New York, then the others.
Re: Sort Table based on What was first selected in Filter
You'd likely need to utilize an event on your drop down to store the order in which the values are selected and also handle it when a value is deselected. You could store it in a hidden input type in a form on your DDX brick and then reference it when the event occurs so that you add or remove it out of the csv list you're storing in the hidden input.
Re: How to make the math right with variables as filter
Wrap your entire outer/first case statement in a SUM function and replace all SUM(`Budget`) with COALESCE(`Budget`,0). Do the same for Actual
its doing the subtraction after all records have been added together instead of summing the differences for each record causing the discrepancy
Re: Using Email in Jupyter Workspace - Python Scripts
I don't believe Domo has a direct API or method specifically for accessing its email notifications. I have sent emails using pydomo. I downloaded the information from a dataset to do a mail merge with my body. But as you are trying to avoid, it had to use my own smtp server.
