Beast mode function to read attributes from end-user profiles.
It would be neat if I could create a beast mode that dynamically did something based on the current users trusted attributes. Something along the lines of:
CASE WHEN ATTRIBUTE('Role') = 'Manager' THEN <X> ELSE <Y> END
Or even be able to read the timezone from their profile so you can do real-time timezone conversions/calculations based on their local time.
Ability to Set Default Value for Filter Chart Types
It would be ideal to be able to set default values for filter chart types, especially the date selector and radio button filters. I have seen multiple posts mentioning that this is available for beta. Is there a timeline as to when this will be available to the masses?
MS Office PowerPoint Variable Integration
Hey Community,
We are looking to get some better integration with variables in the office plugins.
Specifically, we are looking at the Powerpoint plugin, and we want to be able to bring in cards and dashboards that have Beast Modes utilizing Variables in the calculations.
Perhaps something like you do for Filters, the ability to change the Variable for the card. It would also be nice to be able to see what the variable is on the slide.
Another idea is to have a global variables page that could control all variables used in the Presentation.
Card Title and Description Text Formatting Options
Currently there are no options to format Cart Title and Description text. Potential use-cases for text formatting include:
(1) to call attention to Smart Text values
(2) to use title text as chart color legends (ex. see the "1. integrated text" example on this page: )
Desired formatting options are to be able to use Bold, Italic and Underline options; change the font size; and change the font color.

Allow for multiple calendars on Dashboard e.g. Fiscal, Business, Gregorian, Custom
Problem:
Users want to have access to multiple calendars on a dashboard, and different users on the same dashboard may want to see their data from the perspective of their desired calendar. E.g. A finance user wants to see a dashboard through a fiscal calendar, but other users may want to see the same dashboard with a Gregorian or Business calendar. Dashboards cannot be easily toggled between calendars and beast modes do not affect Beast Mode calculations.
Current State:
Users only have access to either the standard calendar or can request a fiscal calendar be added by Support. This calendar is only at a visual layer and does not affect beast modes. The user also cannot easily toggle between a Fiscal and Gregorian calendar on a dashboard because enabling a fiscal calendar is at a card level and needs to be changed for each card inidivudally.
Idea:
Allow for multiple calendars to be added to an instance and allow for the switching between calendars at a dashboard level (similar to how variables can be changed). Have these calendars also affect the beast mode functions.
Point ETL Output to Existing Dataset
I want to be able to point the output of an ETL to a pre-existing dataset. If, as part of a fix or as part of development, I need to make alterations to the ETL to get a desired output that I don't want to be the final ETL, it would be great to be able to make the changes and then point the final ETL to the preexisting dataset via ID in the Output Dataset tile without disrupting anything downstream of the dataset.
Vertical Border
Hey guys, I would love an option to add a vertical border between cards. I like using the transparent background color on cards, so it would be nice to be able to add a thin vertical border between cards to give a bit more obvious separation. Thanks!
Dataset/Dataflow update trigger expirations
It would be very helpful, especially as customers move to consumption, to have advanced dataset update controls to have triggers expire.
As an example, I have survey data that I want to update frequently during the survey window, but then stop once the survey has ended and no new data will be added. Right now my option is to go back in and reconfigure the dataset to manual updates (which I didn't do for the last one and it kept running long after the survey window ended).
Additional Functionality when charting by Week
When charting by week it would be nice to have the following additional options:
- Ability to choose the method that determines 'Week 1'. For example, is it the first Monday of the year? The first Tuesday of the Year? The Tuesday that includes the 1st day of the year? Is it simply whichever date is the 1st day of the year? Many external systems use different approaches for calculating week, so the default domo week selection is usually not particularly useful.
- The ability for weeks to show as date values on the Axis of charts. Rather than showing Week 1, Week 2, etc… it would show 1/1/2024, 1/7/2024, etc… For this you should also be able to choose whether you want it to show as the start date of the week, or the end date of the week.
The current issue with showing Week 1, Week 2, etc… is that nobody knows what dates those periods cover. Did an important event happen that week that affected the data? Was there a bank holiday in that week? Unless you know how weeks are determined in Domo, you can't even back into the dates covered by the week, and that's too much to expect of everyone that could be looking at a card.
The above additional options would only show when using the date selector and choosing 'Week'.
This will results in many beastmodes being made redundant. As well as add really nice functionality that allows Domo to represent data in the same periods as the external systems it's pulling data from.
Thanks
Support for Emojis in Dashboard Names
As a user, when you are scrolling through the various dashboards in the left-hand navigation bar, it would be super helpful to have a more visual cue to draw your attention to the dashboard/page you are looking for. Emojis would be a great solution for this. Currently, based on my testing, Domo allows you to save Emojis in the titles and descriptions of cards, but for some reason, they do not save when adding them to the title/name of a dashboard.
Seems like it would be a low-lift, high-impact way to increase adoption and improve the user's navigation experience.
