If you have data for every day of the year, you could utilize the data label settings and the tooltip to make a label appear on the current date.
First, create a beast mode that looks like this:
CASE WHEN datefield = CURRENT_DATE() THEN datefield END
Drag this beast mode into the Tooltip Field 1.
In the Chart Properties, go to Data Label Settings and in the Text, add Tooltip Field 1.
The result will look something like this as long as you have data for the current date. (I didn't have the right dataset to work with, so I made it show 10/1/2023).

@PJG Yes, you would still use the Totals option but set the Aggregation for that column to Average instead of Sum.
Re: Adrenaline Time Out Error
There's a 30 second timeout for adrenaline dataflows. You'll need to either improve your query performance by rewriting it or attempt to process less data so that the execution time is less than the 30 seconds.

@lemon76 According to this KB Article Adrenaline dataflows are capped to a 30-min timeout. You may need to adjust your query to shorten the run time.

- Yes. You can clean up field names in an ETL. This would be my recommendation for the cleanest way to ensure the names you want down the lineage from the source data.
- You can also use filter cards on a dashboard instead of the dashboard filters. With these filter cards you can create beastmodes with the names you want, just be sure to share the beastmodes to the dataset when saving them.
- Using filter views You can create a filtered version of your dashboard and then save that as a Filter View. You can set that filter view as the default so that each time you come to the page that is the first view you and others see.
