PDP issue on Dashboard with more than one dataset

I have a dashboard with 6 cards. 4 cards are on General Ledger Data Mart, 1 on Accounts Receivable Data Mart and 1 on SO Document Detail. All 3 datasets have identical PDP using the value of the 'Division' column. When looking at dashboards where only 1 of the above datasets are used, PDP works without issue. But when I am on the dashboard with all 3 only the card built on Accounts Receivable Data Mart responds to the PDP. When I hover over the PDP icon is says that all 3 are included. Help!

After a call with Domo support I was able to get an answer. Since there are 3 different datasets I have to select the PDP policy for each even though they are all named the same thing. I was able to impersonate an end user and it works as expected from their end. It's just an issue/extra step for an Admin that is testing. Attached the screenshot from Domo support

  • PDP is applied to a dataset and impacts cards built using that dataset, so it isn't a dashboard issue, but likely a dataset/card issue. Have you checked each card to ensure it is built using the PDP applied datasets?

  • Yes. And all cards have the PDP icon. Additionally, if I view the cards individually PDP works without issue. It is only not working when I am on the dashboard with all 6 cards.

  • If I add a filter for Division to the dashboard all 6 cards filter as expected so I know the values are correct. I have created the PDP policies for each using PDP Automation. I copy/pasted the policies from Accounts Receivable Data Mart (first of the 3 to be created) and updated the dataset id in the webform that triggers the automation.

Are you seeing data you shouldn't? Or are you saying that the data is just wrong? I am guessing a filter is wrong and causing the issue not PDP. That would explain why the issue is on the dashboard level but not card level.

  • I am using the ability to select specific policies to QA the dashboard. I do not believe this is a filter issue as I have verified at least 3 times that all of the policies are identical on each dataset. There are no dashboard filters. If I remove the card on the AR Data Mart (the only PDP working when all 6 cards are there) then the PDP works for 4 of the 5 remaining cards. The cards that are on the GL Data Mart. When I say they aren't working, the cards aren't even trying to filter.

  • So you aren't seeing the PDP icon appear in the bottom right of those cards? And you've verified that the dataset powering that card does indeed have a PDP policy?

  • I am seeing the PDP icon at the bottom of all the cards. They all have the icon. They just aren't responding to changes in the selected policy.

  • Hmm without logging in and troubleshooting I don't think I can help much more. I would recommend submitting a support case to Domo.

  • I submitted a ticket late Friday. Hopefully there will be movement soon.
