Decimal/Thousands Character

Hi,

We have clients in Europe where the decimal point that separates the whole number from its fractional parts is a comma instead of the usual period/dot(.).

Is there anyway to change this?

So in the UK the number 28586.84 would be 28,586.84 but in Europe that would be 28.586,84

Thanks

Are you trying to show 28.586,84 as 28,586.84 ?? 🤔

    Cheap Trick: cast(replace(replace(europe, '.', ''), ',', '.') as double)

Yes but the other way so Uk to Europe.

    28,586.84 to 28.586,84

Thanks for the tip. I am waiting to hear from domo whether this can be something set on the instance.

  • The company settings - language setting may allow you to change the display type of numbers for the entire instance by selecting your variation of English.

I wouldn't use a formula in the ETL to do the conversion as it will convert it to a string instead of a number and you'd lose all of the numerical aggregations. You may be able to do it in a beast mode but you'd need to conditionally know who is looking at it to set the correct format.

@GrantSmith thanks. Yes feature seems to work although I need Greek so hoping it is easy for domo to add new formats.
