Force a filter selection on filter card

I need (and have often needed) a way to force a selection on a filter card for a dashboard. I know I can set default values, but I need a way to ensure at least one selection is always made. Anyone found a workaround here?

Have a distinct count beast mode on your card and filter where that is one. Then set the no data message to be “Select a single value”

Are you wanting to make sure a single filter has been selected or all of the applicable filters have been selected? If you have more than one filter that you want to make sure has a single value selected you can add additional beast modes in your filter to count the distinct values in each of those fields.

Hmm that doesn't seem to work if multiple filters on a page impact a card.

@GrantSmith I am trying to do this at page level. I've got a page setup in domo with 3 cards, and all of them are intended to support the use case of only reviewing ONE PROGRAM. I have a dropdown filter card as the first card on the page, but if user doesn't select a program from the dropdown the cards below are displaying all the data for all the programs, which is not a proper use case of the dashboard. So I want to hide any data in the subsequent cards on the page until a user has made a selection.
