On April 21st 2025, Meta will deprecate the following Instagram metrics:
clips_replays_count on media insights
ig_reels_aggregated_all_plays_count on media insights
video_views on media insights
plays on media insights
email_contacts on user insights
get_direction_clicks on user insights
profile_views on user insights
text_message_clicks on user insights
website_clicks on user insights
phone_call_clicks on user insights
impressions on media and user insights
As a result of these changes, Domo will start rolling out the following changes to Domo instances starting on April 7th 2025:
(1) The Instagram Business connector will no longer request the following metrics in the User Insights report, neither will it allow users to select these metrics while configuring the User Insights report.
impressions
get_direction_clicks
profile_views
text_message_clicks
website_clicks
phone_call_clicks
(2) The Instagram Business connector will no longer request the following metrics in the Media Insights report, neither will it allow users to select these metrics when configuring the Media Insights report.
impressions
clips_replays_count
ig_reels_aggregated_all_plays_count
video_views
plays
(3) The connector will start exposing a new metric called views in both the User Insights and Media Insights reports.
These changes are expected to be completely rolled out to all Domo instances by April 18th 2025.
Customers who created a dataset powered by the Media Insights or User Insights report with any of the above mentioned metrics before April 7th 2025 will be affected as follows:
(1) Datasets that are configured with the Replace update method will no longer have columns for the metrics that are no longer being requested by the connector. Historical data for these metrics will not be saved. Customers may need to update downstream assets, such as cards and alerts, that use these metrics accordingly.
(2) Datasets that are configured with the Append update method will continue to have the columns and historical data for these metrics. However, the columns for the affected metrics will be blank starting April 7th 2025.
