Issue with using calculated field in "Values" section with Pivot Table

Hi all,

Up until recently, I was able to use calculated fields in the pivot table in order to display a text value:

However, when attempting to do this on new cards, it will only let me use COUNT. Below is a different card/dataset, but in theory, shouldn't it be functioning the same way?

I've tried adding it as a row first, then moving it to the values section, hoping that would "trick" it, but I don't understand why the "Values" section is forcing an aggregation of COUNT recently, whereas in the past, I've been able to create numerous cards without this aggregation type.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Are you sure this isn't caused by the data you are using and the fields that are presented in rows and columns?

  • Thanks for the suggestion! I added in a date (similar to the first example) and that worked! I'm not sure why it doesn't work without it, but this should suffice.

  • It looks like all those conditions point to parent_entity_title. What's the point in the CASE statement? I think you want what you had before but remove the ELSE clause.

  • Good point on removing the ELSE clause.

The initial goal was just to have the $ amount of specific parent_entity_titles and then the corresponding title next to them (without the date). I still can't get it to work with just the parent_entity_title, but having the date_added field included is fine, it just means I won't be able to use color rules.
