Do new values get swept into an "all" card filter?

I can't find that this has been answered before. If I add a filter to a card and select "all," what happens if a new value is added to that field? For example, say my field is "color" and I initally only have red, orange, and yellow. I set the filter to select "all." Later on a row that has color = blue is added to my data set. Will that row be included in my card, since I selected "all," or will it be excluded since "all" initially only included red, orange, yellow?

I just tested this, new values are excluded.

Okay, you can just add the filter as a quick filter but not filter any values. By default it will select all and then they can change the filter as they like. If new values are added, they will show by default.

  • If you are selecting all values, is there a reason you would even apply a filter? Because not applying a filter at all would select all values

  • @Sean_Tully, thanks! That’s a bummer.

@ColemenWilson, good question. I’m building this for users who usually look at all values but also need the ability to filter.
