Can we create a PoP comparison card based on whatever time date range is selected in Domo?

They have a period over period card. I don't know that they could tailor to the specifics we would each desire. When you get used to making calculations, you can create formulas for current period and past.

Complications - different companies and people celebrate different holidays. And Sunday through Saturday business days don't match.

I'm currently doing a card that needs full weeks. So I create a formula to find the first Sunday after to the earliest date, and the last Saturday prior to the most recent date. Things like that would differ from card to card.

I will give a couple examples here to make it easier to understand:

In case user selects 03/01/2019 - 04/30/2019
- then previous period should be 01/01/2019 - 02/28/2019 (or 02/29 in case of leap year)

- then previous period should be 03/12/2019 - 06/15/2019

In case user selects 04/01/2019 - 06/15/2019
- then previous period should be 01/01/2019 - 03/15/2019

In case user selects 07/25/2019 - 08/31/2019
- then previous period should be 05/25/2019 - 06/30/2019

Basically it is a previous period to date concept, but having random dates for both start and end dates make it complicated.

Also since the selection of date range has no specific time frame, I am not sure how to attempt the calculation for this.

I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but take a look here at 19:04 to get started thinking about how to use Variables to accomplish this. I have used this in the past and it has functioned well.

I think you can accomplish this with variables, but setting the period and previous period to be dynamic might be challenging.
