Percentage change in bar chart?

We have various charts comparing the current month to the same month in the prior year and it would be nice to have a percentage over the chart indicating what the difference is between the two periods. I have searched several forums and played around in ETL and beast mode, but something that seems straightforward does not seem achievable in DOMO. I know it would be easy to create a beast mode formula but it doesn't seem like there is an obvious place to drop the calculated field in the chart. Any suggestions on how to achieve this?

Domo has some out-of-the-box period-over-period charts that might be useful to you: https://domo-support.domo.com/s/article/360042924834?language=en_US

However, I don't think they work with the stacked series like you're doing in your chart.

One way to get the YOY variance in the chart would be to drop the beast mode into a tooltip field, then you could display it the data label.

When I'm doing period over period type analysis I'll restructure the data so that I can reference each period type for each day. Then use Beast Modes to calculate the differences and the % changes. I've done a write up on this in the past:
