Dashboard Duplication not working as intended

Hi,

It's pretty common for our team to duplicate a live dashboard to start developing it further without affecting our live dashboards.

However, we have tried to duplicate a dashboard with our standard process, "Duplicate Cards" is ticked, with a Dashboard that has variables at the top. For some reason, the dashboard duplicates the cards to the first instance of variables and then changes to saving copies, linking the cards across both dashboards. When doing this, it also duplicates the duplicated cards. These cards are then populated into the appendix, so we are left with two duplications of the successful cards, one in their normal position and one in the appendix, and linked cards for everything else.

I have tested this on another dashboard with variables, though, and it worked as intended.

The only thing that might be causing problems is we renamed some values of the variables, including the default value, changing the word "Tickets" to "Issue" midway through development. As values are not dynamic on pre-populated variable usage, not all card's in-built variable controls are updated with the new values. Given that the dashboard has +30 or so cards, and the majority of cards have been updated and are not duplicated as intended, this feels benign to the problem. In testing this, we have saved a card with the updated variable values to a fresh dashboard, which we have then duplicated, which has also caused the same issue.

Has anyone experienced this bug(?) too? Something has seemingly aligned to create a perfect storm that we cannot replicate with other variable-enabled cards from different dashboards.

    I'd recommend logging a support ticket to have the Domo team look into this issue in the back end to see if they can find a reason why the dashboard copying isn't working correctly for you in this instance.
