Beast Mode Validated but not working

Hi all!

My beastmode here is validated but it shows a message "An issue has occurred during processing. We are unable to complete the request at this time. "

This is my beastmode:

SUM(`Real Produksi TBS Tanaman Produktif (ton)`) / (SUM((`RKAP Luas TM (ha)`) / (COUNT(DISTINCT `Date`))))

So basically the context is: "Real Produksi TBS" = TBS Production & "RKAP Luas TM" = Harvesting area. I want to know the productivity of the area: Real TBS Productivity (ton/ha). But I would like the harvesting area to be dynamic hence divided by day the user selected from the dashboard with the count distinct from the column "Date".

Please help since I don't know why it's not working!

Hi @beatricetan21, the error is occurring because there's an aggregate function (i.e. SUM) on top of another aggregate function (i.e. SUM or COUNT DISTINCT), which isn't possible to process in a beast mode.

What you should do is set up your two SUM and one COUNT DISTINCT portions as 3 separate calculations before Analyzer (for example, as a calculated field in the ETL [https://domohelp.domo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044258533-Writing-Formulas-in-the-New-Magic-ETL]) and then write your beast mode using the newly created measures.

@beatricetan21 The error is likely because the distinct count is inside of the second sum. Try removing one set of parenthesis:

SUM(`Real Produksi TBS Tanaman Produktif (ton)`) / (SUM(`RKAP Luas TM (ha)`) / (COUNT(DISTINCT `Date`)))
