Hi,

We have a API called http delete https://api.domo.com/v1/users/{userid}. This deletes the user but the record still gets fetched when we query api with that deleted userid. A subset of the user information is returned, including a deleted property, which is true.

Do we have any option to delete it completely ?

Right now, no. Domo only does a "soft" delete (mark the user as deleted but keep the record around). This is because if they completely removed a user it would break all of the auditing tables / user activity that domo records to see what a actions a user has performed. If an admin was terminated and you deleted the user then you wouldn't be able to go back and see if that user performed anything malicious or accidentally removed something.

You could talk to your CSM to see if they can do a special case to remove the information but out of the box it's not possible.

  • @GrantSmith  is correct.  but the larger question is, in what context do you care if there's a hard or soft delete?

IF the issue is a question of GPDR compliance b/c a client requested 'the right to be forgotten' or whatever that verbiage is, yes, Domo is contractually obligated (AFAIK) to support requests like this.

Usually that's not the case so, what are you concerned about?
