Make Domo Api Accessible Using Token

Hi Devs,

We were integrating Domo Dataset Api into our client application for which we need token, So we created one using a Client id & Client Secret. From that we've got the token generated.

 

There is no problem in generating a token. Issue is, we made use of the token above, Inserted that into POSTMAN to check the Dataset DOMO API that we had developed but were not able to get the data. It always says access is Forbidden..

 

 

We chose Authorization type in Header using POSTMAN.

We need this api to be accessible using the token.

yes I had followed those instructions for creating ClientID, Secrent and finally token.

Accessing AppDB collection using domo api with token fails. It returns forbidden as response..

 

Making use of AppDB internally within the domo customized application works fine but it fails when the api is used outside of domo app ie., using PostMan client with a valid token..

 

Where as it works fine for other APIs with token that includes Dataset APIs, User list Api, Group Api. It only fails with AppDB collection..

 

Any suggestions ?

I was struggling with this too.  But keep in mind the AppDb API and the associated collection ARE NOT necessarily under <yourinstaance.domo.com>

 

If you recall in the documentation for setting up your manifest you have to set up a proxy to where your app is hosted.

If i had to guess, you're sending your Postman API request to the wrong place...

https://<YourAppId>.domoapps.<YourProdServer>.domo.com/domo/datastores/v1/collections/<CollectionName>/documents/

should get you there.

 

If you inspect network traffic in a custom app hosted in domo that retrieves data from Domo successfully you'll be able to see a query that works!

 

I authenticated using x-domo-authentication in the header.
