SharePoint Data pull updating the last modified by with account being used for connection

Hi, Is anyone else experiencing this: our documents in SharePoint are showing last modied by the account that we are using for Domo to access the file.

Is this supposed to be like this? The user in our instance has not even visited the documents in SharePoint but we have an hourly or daily pull setup using this users account.

SharePoint shows the last modied by as this user.

 

Thoughts on why this is the case and if this sounds like something that should or should not happen?

We suggest reaching out to Microsfot to confirm that making API calls should update the last modied stamp on a file. 

But it does make some sense if that is the case. The file is being accessed through the API using a token based on that users credentials when you run reports Domo.

Looking at Microsofts documentation it looks like when you do a get request through the API it does change the modifiedby value
