Re: Description for Calculated Fields
So much cleaner! And it could just be right there in the tile under the beast mode name and pop up when you hover, just like any dataset field. YES PLEASE!!!
Re: Description for Calculated Fields
We use comments in beast modes for this now, but a real solution (that includes adding the new description object to governance data) would be cleaner!

Re: Period Over Period Calculation Challenges
( (CASE when `Period Type`='Current' then `Shipped CoGS`end) - (CASE when `Period Type`= 'Last Month' then `Shipped CoGS` end) ) / (CASE when `Period Type`='Last Month' then `Shipped CoGS`end)
you are calculating your beast mode at the row level. in other words, take one row in isolation and then apply your beast mode to it.
you Period Type for one row cannot be both 'Current' AND 'Last Month' at the same time. therefore it is IMPOSSIBLE for one row to return a result.
you have to apply your beast mode to an aggregate (which is exactly what @RobSomers ) is demonstrating.
( SUM(CASE when `Period Type`='Current' then `Shipped CoGS`end) - SUM(CASE when `Period Type`= 'Last Month' then `Shipped CoGS` end) ) / SUM(CASE when `Period Type`='Last Month' then `Shipped CoGS`end)
"across all rows take the sum of shipped cogs when period type is current."
"across all rows take the sum of shipped cogs when period type is last month" etc.
Re: Mass Alias Column Names
Thanks @MarkSnodgrass . I'm using this method and it's going well.
Re: Mass Alias Column Names
If you drag and hold your mouse over multiple tiles you can choose the Copy to Clipboard option. You can then paste that into any text editor as it is just JSON data. You could then look at the structure of the alter tile and select columns tile to see which would be easier to mass edit outside of Domo and then paste back into your ETL.
Re: More than one identical variable toggle on the same dashboard.
@t238 any kind of toolbox that scrolls as you move would be amazing. Could be simple KPIs, Variables, or Filters. Having that functionality to customise would be AMAZING. Same with the "next card" and "previous card" navigation arrows in card details. Would be great if they followed you down so they were always in the middle of the page.

Re: Google Analytics advanced connector not working
@vaco - There are a lot of things that are no longer available with GA4 because of decisions Google made. Most are related to privacy in a roundabout sort of way. You'll find things like demographics and geo data to be lacking, as well as anything else which has to require the user to agree to being tracked. Some, like the demographics data, can be cajoled into yielding better results by running larger date ranges. I am working on a sequence now to do monthly data replacements with totals. It's annoying.
Thank you for marking my solution!
Re: Line chart to show the values as % of the column total
@ArborRose thanks again.
X - axis is rating for good, bad, ugly
Y- axis is a beast mode calc for all plan:
CASE WHEN `Code'= 'A' THEN `Plan A`
WHEN `Code` = 'B' THEN `Plan B`
WHEN `Code` = 'C' THEN `Plan C`
END
Series is a beast mode for Plan type
The issue is when I say my Y-axis is just this beast mode:
Case WHEN 'Code'= 'A' THEN 'Plan A'
END
I get value as % of column. When I change it to the beast mode calc for all plan it is throwing me off.
I'll try doing what you mentioned and see what I get.

Re: Line chart to show the values as % of the column total
Hmm….sorry my workload is heavy today.
As DataMaven mentioned…I'm not sure what I'm looking at with your fields in x and y. As for the %…there might be an issue in how your calculate the percentage of the total. You can try to calculate the % of a column total separately for each plan and combine them. Something like this might give the % relative to the total for the plan.
CASE
WHEN `Code` = 'A' THEN `Plan A` / SUM(`Plan A`) OVER ()
WHEN `Code` = 'B' THEN `Plan B` / SUM(`Plan B`) OVER ()
WHEN `Code` = 'C' THEN `Plan C` / SUM(`Plan C`) OVER ()
END
To get the % of column total relative to the total of all….
CASE
WHEN `Code` = 'A' THEN `Plan A` / (SUM(`Plan A`) OVER () + SUM(`Plan B`) OVER () + SUM(`Plan C`) OVER ())
WHEN `Code` = 'B' THEN `Plan B` / (SUM(`Plan A`) OVER () + SUM(`Plan B`) OVER () + SUM(`Plan C`) OVER ())
WHEN `Code` = 'C' THEN `Plan C` / (SUM(`Plan A`) OVER () + SUM(`Plan B`) OVER () + SUM(`Plan C`) OVER ())
END
