Re: How can I take a report from a PDF and make sure that the PDF extracts them as tables?
The problem appears to be in the way the PDF is created. Well structured text will come out as tables that can be recognized and extracted. Since you have a mix, it appears that some were properly exported and others were flattened to images.
Using Adobe Acrobat Pro, I believe you can do an export from PDF to Excel. But it would require recognize text via OCR being turned on.
AppDB collection dataset not syncing
First, I have already submitted a ticket.
I have an appDB collection that is not syncing to the dataset. Last sync was 3/19/26 at 4:42 PM EST. It should sync approximately every 15 minutes as long as there is new data. There is new data in the collection, but it is not in the dataset.
Does anyone know how to do a forced sync?
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
Re: How to build an app/workflow that takes a page ID as input and resets all page and card permissions
@MarkSnodgrass - you are AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND!! Thank you so much for jumping on my posts. This was majorly stressing me out and with your comments and suggestions and that video recording of your build example, I was able to build a workflow that accomplishes my main objective. WOOT!!
I spent a lot of time with your video to understand (and build) each element that I needed. It was super helpful to see you do it all and talk through it. The only slight issue was the video box in the bottom right corner covered up some important visuals a couple times but not a big deal - just something to consider for any future videos.
In the end I realized I didn't need to call the API at all (or use any Python or anything). Since I already had a workflow that was taking a card ID as input and then doing the permissions change on it, I realized I could set up (as you did) a pull of the IDs I wanted (I had to sort out how to change mine all from "text" to "number" types) and then pass each ID into the sequence I used in my existing "card strip workflow" and then loop through the full list of card IDs as you showed in your example.
And I also found the topic of your build quite relevant as well, so I might actually replicate that one next. SO AWESOME!! Thanks again for your guidance here.
LEGEND.
True legend. 🙇♂️
Re: App Studio Homepage, hide App's Last Update?
Searched for this exact question. I have a lot of users in our organization, so it's about once a week I get asked if data is up to data because "domo says this hasn't updated since last month". In reality, the datasets are updating just fine, the app itself just hasn't been edited. Easy question to answer, but very frustrating that I get it so often.
Re: Pandas Boolean DType Compatibility Issue
Why not coerse the field type to text?
df['TF'] = df['TF'].astype(str)
Re: Pandas Boolean DType Compatibility Issue
schema = {
"id": "int",
"name": "str",
"created_at": "datetime",
"amount": "float",
"is_active": "bool", # we'll handle this explicitly
}
import pandas as pd
def enforce_schema(df, schema):
for col, dtype in schema.items():
if col not in df.columns:
continue
if dtype == "int":
df[col] = pd.to_numeric(df[col], errors="coerce").astype("Int64")
elif dtype == "float":
df[col] = pd.to_numeric(df[col], errors="coerce")
elif dtype == "str":
df[col] = df[col].astype(str)
elif dtype == "datetime":
df[col] = pd.to_datetime(df[col], errors="coerce")
elif dtype == "bool":
# 👇 IMPORTANT: normalize for Domo
df[col] = df[col].map({True: 1, False: 0})
# OR use text instead:
# df[col] = df[col].map({True: "Yes", False: "No"})
return df
df = enforce_schema(df, schema)
domojupyter.write_dataframe(df, dataset_id)
With something like the above, you can push the structures to proper types. The only type I have problems with is DATE. You can get DATETIME with Python writing to Domo but you can't get DATE.
Re: Set specific runtime for Enterprise Dataset Copy Job
Is this the connector you're referencing? That might be easier then scripting the API call but the bulk ingestion of the enterprise feature is niiice idk if it's worth dropping for the advanced scheduling.
Appreciate the response either way and your YouTube videos are amazing so tysm for those, Mark!
Re: Dataset Beast Modes and Sandbox
Hey Grant,
The source datasets are federated Dremio datasets so we're not actually copying data and federated datasets arent supported with virtual datasets. We don't want to copy data at all (since thats live data) and views seem to add alot of overhead on top of federated datasets. So we're just trying to figure out a way that if we add a beast mode in a dev copy of that federated dataset, we have an easy way to add that beastmode metadata to the same dataset in prod in a mroe automated fashion as some datasets will have 100+ standard calculations on them.
