Re: row count at each step
Hi @AndreaLovesData, I'm not sure which option @ydigilov would prefer but for me, having this ability while authoring the dataflow as part of the previous process would be awesome.

Re: Random Number
@Ashleigh in that case, what if you did something with DENSE_RANK()?
DENSE_RANK() over (order by SUM(value) desc)
You could then do something like this
CONCAT('Customer ',DENSE_RANK() over (order by SUM(value) desc))
Re: Is it possible to upload many google sheets at the same time?
@david_cunningham I've tried this approach and I am being shocked. It is so great way! VERY FAST! thank you!
Re: Is it possible to upload many google sheets at the same time?
With the Google sheets connector, you have to specify which sheet you want to upload, so unfortunately there isn't a built in way to do this.
Here is what I would recommend
Assuming these sheets all have the same columns. Which I'm guessing is the case since you're wanting to stack them. Combine all your sheets together in Google Sheets or Excel, and then upload that combined file to Domo. This would be much faster than uploading each individual sheet to Domo.
To do this, you can use the QUERY() function in Google Sheets alongside ArrayFormula()
Re: Custom User Profile Fields and be able to use them as Trusted Attributes for PDP
Hi, @TheLookout - thanks for the follow-up question.
I'm happy to report that you CAN set custom user attributes in bulk using the User Management tool in the Governance Toolkit. This functionality was released just within the last couple of months.
Please find general documentation on the User Management tool here: . But note, the documentation doesn't yet specifically reference the custom attribute capability. Read on for more details.
The User Management tool consumes a Domo dataset that contains user information, including attributes. Once you've created an attribute in the Domo instance, you can set values for that attribute by adding a column (column name must be the attribute KEY of the custom attribute - not the attribute name) to the configuration dataset that drives the User Management tool.
For list-type attributes, you can delimit between multiple values using the | (pipe) character
One important note: the attribute must be created in the Domo environment before the User Management tool can set values for it. That is to say, the User Management tool does NOT create attributes.
Re: More role permission granularity
Hi, @Shatz - thanks for posting your idea here!
Really, I see a couple of different ideas:
- Allow a "people-manager" sub-admin-type user to assign roles to other users without giving them the ability to assign any role. So, you'd need governance around which roles are assignable by those sub-admin users.
- Allow a "people-manager" sub-admin-type user to set user attributes without giving all the abilities that come with the "Manage all users" grant. Presumably, you'd want similar governance as with roles: maybe limit which attributes are configurable by those sub-admin users.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your use case and your ideas for future improvements!
Re: Rolling 12 Month Average in Magic ETL
@MarkSnodgrass has a fantastic YouTube video on this exact topic! Check it out 😁
The video covers 30/60/90 day rolling windows, but you can adapt this to your particular requirements.
Thanks Mark for creating this great video!
