Re: CourseBuilder Metadata
Hey Nate! Google Analytics is currently the only way to track progress. Tracking who each individual is isn't currently possible. @Ashleigh correct me if I am wrong?
Our team has switched to building trainings using other LMS tools and them embedding into Domo. If you are on consumption you could also add another instance to be an education sandbox.
Re: Integrate with Monday.com
We have successfully leveraged Jupyter Workspaces and some simple python code to pull Monday board data into DOMO. Happy to share if anyone is still experiencing this challenge. Warning though, the flexibility and frequent editing of Monday boards can create havoc. Make sure you have strong understanding/collaboration with Monday board owners.
Re: Year over Year Cards
Hello @calvert_schaefer,
One approach, as suggested by John Le, involves using variables as a solution. However, is you want to compare Fiscal Years, this creates a huge challenge that requires a more complex Beast Mode formula.
Another viable solution is utilizing ETL processes to create a column, such as 'Sales_Last_FY', which can then be utilized alongside 'Sales' in your reports.
Let me know if you need additional explanation for both approaches.
New Formula Functions in Magic ETL
Hi friends,
Just a quick post here to let you know about a couple new formula functions that have been added to the Magic formula editor. Not a big enough thing to warrant its own product release, but just a little note here to let you know about them:
- ROW_NUMBER(), which would normally be used with an OVER clause, can now be used without an OVER clause in the Add Formula, Group By, and Filter Rows tiles. It evaluates to an incrementing integer beginning with 1 for each incoming row to the tile. It is especially useful for working with data where the original order is important but there is not a column that contains a value that could be sorted on.
- DATE() can now be invoked with three integer arguments, the year, month, and day. So to get the 15th of the month of an existing date
d, you could write:date(year(d), month(d), 15), which is more elegant than concatenating together a string and parsing it with STR_TO_DATE. (Don't even pretend you've never done that, I've seen what you do…)
Let me know if you have any questions!
Take care,
Your Friendly Neighborhood Magic ETL Product Manager
Re: How to remove all grid lines except for X & Y zero lines
I can't figure that one out - so standing by for the GOATs to chime in. 🐐🐐
Re: Why are multiple "Send Email" blocks forcing all input fields to be required?
I'd recommend logging a support ticket for this issue.
Re: Uploading Excel - Data Type Issues
@andyhicken Apart from using text classifier, below one could also help
"Under Admin > Toolkit, there's a scheme management capability to modify a dataset's field types. But I use it as a last resort; when I can't seem to get Domo to accept my field types on import."
APP PDP Policy View
I am trying to figure out if there is a way to be able to view an app from different PDP policies, I am the admin and I am trying to build out apps for people but want to be able to test and see what others are seeing based on their PDP
Re: Calculating country from lat long - latitude longitude
There is a Domo Dimensions Connector dataset called countries_latitude_longitude.csv but I'm not sure the best way to accurately join this data. You'd need to maybe round the data so it would join cleaner (maybe to the tenth?) but I worry about errors.
The better option would be to use DomoGPT in a Jupyter Workspace model and prompt it to return the Country for each Lat/Long in your data. That would be more accurate but would be more effort and require your InfoSec approving the use of Domo GPT.
