Re: How to alter a column in text and cast data type as integer?
You can also just click on the cog next to the cast data type in the Alter Columns tile and under Bad Values, choose Null. The tile will then convert all the values to integer that are actually integers and then null out all the values that don't convert.
Re: Can I restrict the datasets that are available to end users accessing Domo via API?
The Domo API is authenticated as the user who creates the dataset. So if you created the Client ID and Secret, then it's emulating your user with your permissions. You'd need to create separate Client IDs and Secrets for other users with restricted access to certain datasets to allow them to only see what they would have access to.
Re: Dynamic PDP
@marcel_luthi Yes when I remove the PDP they see the data and therefore it is clearly something with the BETA function. Contacted DOMO and it has been raised now to the Level 3 at developers' level just FYI.
@Ashleigh
Resharing the datasets, to people in the group and also individually still didn't solve it either. Wondering has anyone used this new function successfully?
Any way to pull in basic Quickbooks records? (Customers, Vendors, etc.)
I can't find a way, using either of the included Quickbooks Online connectors, to pull basic lists of records from Quickbooks -- e.g., my Customer list, my Vendor list, Sales Receipts, etc. All I see are reports, which are nice but don't necessarily include all the data I would need. For example, a G/L report doesn't include certain details from Sales Receipts (like payment method) that I would like to be able to report on.
Am I missing something that's totally obvious or are the Quickbooks connectors really this limited?
Re: trying to create a beast mode calc
Perhaps if you divided that by the day of the month, like this:
SUM(COUNT(TicketNbr)) OVER (PARTITION BY board_name ORDER BY date_entered)
/ DAYOFMONTH(date_entered)
Re: How to indicate the time of last dataset update in card title
Definitely worth adding an idea in the ideas exchange to allow for more options in display the last updated dated using the smart text option.
Another option would be to use the formula tile in your ETL and create a field called last updated has this in the formula:
NOW()
that would store the timestamp of when the ETL ran.
Re: How to indicate the time of last dataset update in card title
@DomoAmateur, alternatively, you can also display this in the summary number. With the column that contains the last time your dataset was updated, create a beast mode like the one below. In order for you to display it in the summary number, your calculation must contain an aggregate, which in this case is max. However, it can be any kind of aggregate since your field is most likely a constant. Then, concat helps display the field as text.
Here's what it will look like:
Re: allow users to duplicate (save as) locked cards
You could unlock the page and certify all the cards on the page. If someone inadvertently edits a card (instead of save-as), it loses the certification. It also warns the user of this when they try to save the card, which would help prevent inadvertent changes, if not absolutely block them.
You could also save a duplicate of the report that isn't shared, just in case major changes happen that you need to repair.
Export dashboard to another DOMO instance
Hello everyone,
I'd like to know if there any way to copy a dashboard from one domo instance to another one including all of the cards. Let's say I want to move a dashboard from abc.domo.com to xyz.domo.com. Both domo instances have the same datasets/dataflows with the same schemas and data, only the dataset name might be different. I need to automate this process because doing it manually is really time consuming and comes with the risk of doing mistakes or missing important things.
I don't really know how this can be achieved. I don't see any option within the Domo UI. Perhaps there's a Domo CLI command that can help here or maybe it can be done by building a custom app.
I'd appreciate any idea or comment about it.
