Re: How to omit values from a field if it contains a letter inside it
If those are the only letters that will appear in the values of that field you could create a beastmode:
CASE WHEN `ItemNumber` LIKE '%A%' OR `ItemNumber` LIKE '%B%' OR `ItemNumber` LIKE '%C%' OR `ItemNumber` LIKE '%P%' THEN 'Out' ELSE 'In' END
Re: Indexing Help
You don't need to explicitely create indexes as you would in traditional databases. Domo's automatically optimizes for performance. Slow performance may be due to complexity of the dashboard or an issue in how you have things structured.
Re: Indexing Help
One thing I always take into account when designing ETL Pipelines is to be a teapot - short and stout. What I mean is that you can filter the data as soon as you're able to and also selecting only the columns you need. This makes the data short and faster to process as there's less data. On the stout side of the coin, you'll want to make sure you do as many things in parallel when processing the data as possible. Instead of chaining joins together join other tables together as you can so multiple joins are happening at the same time. This will allow the parallelism to work efficiently and not have your pipeline waiting on steps slowing things down.
Re: Square Root Beast Mode
You can accomplish this using the POWER function in beast mode:
POWER('Value',.5)
This gives you a an output of 'Value'^(1/2), which is the same as a square root.
Re: Is it possible to send scheduled reports to anyone regardless if they have a seat in Domo or not?
@pauljames Yes, you can add email addresses to scheduled report distribution lists.
Re: Is it possible to send scheduled reports to anyone regardless if they have a seat in Domo or not?
You'll need to make sure this is enabled in your instance (in Admin) to be able to send scheduled reports to folks who are not a part of your Domo instance:
Re: Break out rows depending on columns having a value
You would use the pivot/unpivot tile in Magic ETL: There are examples in the KB article that walk through exactly what you are trying to do. Let me know if you get stuck!
Re: Extracting Data from SharePoint Excel spreadsheets
You can also use the SharePoint Online Rest Connector to pull in the data. Here's the KB article that explains how to get it set up. https://domo-support.domo.com/s/article/360043436773?language=en_US
Re: Radio Button Filter Card - Set the default selection?
Not saying this is an ideal solution but if the number of filter values were modest - couldn't you use variable / radio button control?
Beast mode, add calculated field, variables, give variable name, variable type and default value, select radio options (or other type), add remaining values. (Make sure add control to analyzer is checked). Create / modify beast mode calculations to be
case {field}
when control then calc
end
I use a similar concept to select which column to use for a calculation by value of the control.
Re: Can the dashboard imported to the APP studio be automatically updated and synced?
If you leave the "Duplicate all cards" box unchecked, then changes to the cards themselves in analyzer will appear in those same cards in the other location. However, design changes to the page/app will not.
Dashboard or app level changes will not affect the other content, but card changes in analyzer will.
