Adding Visible Descriptions/Tags for Apps in Apps Studio
Hi Domo Product Team
Our team leverages the Apps in App Studio and Domo Everywhere heavily in our customer deployment. We build Apps in App Studio which are then deploy to our customer instances via Domo Everywhere publication.
Presently there is no way to add any sorts of descriptions or tags for each Apps which are being built or created via Sandbox, so as you can imagine when you have an App for each customer that needs to maintain the same name, you suddenly have a whole list of the same App tile name in your App Studio home page, without the ability to distinguish which is for which customer.
The same challenge appears in the Domo Everywhere Publication where the step to select the App to be published will be showing a list of all the same app and name making it very hard to know which one is for which customers.
There is a reason why we need to maintain individual app for individual customer (data segregation requirements and content customization) and why we cannot have customer names in the App name (because it would look stupid when you have to deploy multiple app to the same customer, it’s silly to have customer name in each of the apps)
So Domo Product Team, can you please enable the description/tag feature and make them visible in App Studio as well as in Domo Everywhere Publication.
Kind regards
Edgar
Changing Dataflow Owner
If someone owns a dataflow they should be able to go in and change the owner from themselves to another person. Currently, only an admin or someone with the "manage all dataflows" grant can do this.

Impersonate another user
Can you provide an option to impersonate another user's profile using admin account. Specifically, I would like to know if it is possible to access and view another user's account, such as a customer's account, in order to troubleshoot issues they may be experiencing, even if they have been granted the necessary access.
Use case 1 - If someone from our team want a separate filter view only for him for a dashboard and they are not able to do it by them self's then as an admin is there an option to impersonate his account and add a filter view for him.
Use case 2 - Before inform user that the access has been provided to dashboard, we would like to impersonate a user account and see if the dashboard is visible in there account properly or not.
Re: Ability to duplicate page in App Studio
@Anna_Otake we are working on getting development work started to support import of app pages(copying app pages) in the next 4 weeks!
Editable Automated PPT Downloads in DOMO Dashboards
Currently, the output of automated PPT downloads from DOMO dashboards only generates non-editable screenshots. This limitation constrains our ability to make adjustments, update data points, and customize presentations, which is essential for effective communication and flexibility in consulting and research tasks.
Feature Importance:
As a consulting and research firm, editable presentation outputs are crucial for tailoring insights to clients’ needs, enhancing the value of deliverables, and saving analysts’ time. Enabling editable formats would encourage more analysts and clients to adopt the DOMO platform for their customizable reporting needs, amplifying its reach and engagement.
Allow Normal dashboards to use App Studio-esque themes and tab interactions
I think everyone loves the concept of app studio but in practice building apps is extremely cumbersome. No move/copy, no copying of pages, no save as for pages to other apps, no page level permissions to restrict portions of an app to specific users… which creates a huge headache when you're trying to roll out apps with roles or even just repurpose a dashboard from one app into another. Not to mention accessing apps today is enough to kill usage and adoption in itself.
I've been told that App Studio was never meant to replace normal dashboards. Which is why App Studio doesn't have export or other features. So I would love a middle ground. Good ol' fashioned dashboards are easy to build, easy to govern and easy to replicate. And way easier to use in an embedded instance where not all users will have access to all pages of an app.
Let's allow the creation of themes that then can be applied to a dashboard just like in app studio. And the tabs element would be a nice to have. This would allow for a much needed UI/UX improvement to update existing dashboards (They look so outdated compared to other tools out there) and hopefully be something that can come sooner than it is taking for App Studio to be feature complete.
Data Dictionary Tool
Would like the ability for Domo to present to me all the fields made available to end users and what they are named (both in display and in the data) and then make available a place for me to define them and expose those definitions easily to end users.
Add an Ability for Beast Modes to be 'Certified'
We need this governance tool so our self-service users know which beast modes they can trust!
Currently, any of our hundreds of report editors have the ability to create, edit, own, delete, save to dataset, and lock beast modes. We have thousands or even 10s of thousands of calculations after many years of using Domo. Many of them are redundant, or superfluous. Users do not know which beast modes they can trust, and having so many saved to datasets starts to impact performance.
We need a way for our core data engineering and analytics team to be able to identify 'certified' content for our users. This could be as simple as a check box within beast mode manager that has its own permissions grant, or can be toggled by admins only. Or it could be a fancy interface similar to card or dataset certification. Whatever gets it developed the fastest 😁!
Table cards: Expand/Collapse on Multiple Columns
Currently, I can get a single level of expand/collapse functionality on the first column of a table if I add subtotals. I would like to be able to add the expand/collapse button to any columns.
