Transpose functionality for HTML Tables
Using the tables, I've found the transpose functionality quite useful however HTML tables provide a lot of flexibility that isn't available in the normal table. We have a specific case at the moment that the HTML would be useful for, if the transpose function was available.
I would like to propose having this function added to the HTML table.
Improve Readability for Long Column Headers in Color Rules Dialog
The color rules dialog has limited horizontal space to display the names of dataset columns. If the column names are similar and exceed this length, there is no way to differentiate them or to know what color rules are already set.
As a typical example we have a column named "COL_SUBCLAIM1CATEGORYNAME" and a Beastmode based on it titled "COL_SUBLAIM1CATEGORYNAME Students by Percentage". Since the column name exceeds the width of the field in the Color Rules dialog, it's impossible to differentiate which of these is being set. Even if the dropdown is opened there is no indication of which field was selected (I seem to remember the selected column used to be bolded when you opened the menu, but that doesn't seem to work anymore).
This issue could be fixed by allowing the modal window (or column) to be resized or adding a tooltip to the field to allow for the display of the entire name.
Need more real estate and more customization in Left Nav
The left nav is right out of the box already out of space for adding custom pins. As you'll see in the screenshot below, none of my added pins show up on the left nav, I have to select the "All Navigation Items" icon to see them. I think the icons marked in orange below could definitely be moved into the "features" or "all navigation items" icon pins and would also love the ability to control for myself and others what icons appear on the left nav.
App Studio Tabs - Mobile Stretching Cards
Within App Studio, specifically when you use tabs within Pages, the height of each tab is at the mercy of your tallest tab.
What this means is if you have 2 tabs, and tab 1 is 2 cards tall card and tab 2 is 10 cards tall, tab 1 will be as tall as tab 2; resulting in very stretched cards in tab 1.
While the best solution would be independent management of tab height, the workaround on Desktop is to use spacers. Unfortunately, this workaround does not exist on Mobile, resulting in very stretched / unreadable cards (i.e., poor user experience).
Please look into the independent management of tab height and / or adding the spacer workaround to mobile.
App Studio - App Name Length / Fitment
Within App Studio's landing page, we are finding that the limitations associated with how many characters we can fit prior to needing to hover over the name of the app is resulting in poor user experience.
Example: We have an application named "Merchandising Recommendations". Here, not only does "Merchandising" not fit on one line, the second line is "gā¦" and "Recommendations is completely unavailable. It does not look good.
We would like to see (1) fitment improved and / or (2) enablement to update the name on the landing page and the name within the page itself independently (e.g., short name "Merch Recs" on the landing page and long name "Merchandising Recommendations" when the application is opened up).
Group ownership of dataset should allow anyone in group to submit for certification
It would be great if every User in the group that owns the dataset can submit it for certification. (Was told via Domo support, that Domo does not have this functionality currently)
For example, we have a dataset we would like certified - this dataset is owned by a group. User is in this group. When requesting certification for the dataset, it says that the request has been sent to the owner of the dataset. Every User of the group is unable to view or approve the request, even though they are in the group and also an admin in Domo.
Domo Apps Home Page: Organization
Currently the only way to organize your App Studio apps is by changing their title, thereby alphabetizing them, or favoriting them. The title is truncated, so even that option is limited.
Some additional organization/navigation tools would be helpful:
- Tags
- Folders
- Descriptions
- List view
Dataset Color Rules - lock color to column regardless of rules
Much of my data compares KPIs across 30+ different cities.
When I use city on series, the colors are assigned in the order they are charted. So if I'm charting A-Z, the first in the alphabet gets for instance light blue. If, on another KPI, the default sort is by value high to low, the colors are completely mixed up.
Dataset color rules can be used to set a color for each and every unique city name, but it's cumbersome especially on cards where a different color rule is being set (imagine cities are not on series, but something else is set there and needs rules ā the color properties UI just gets longer and longer).
I don't want users to get confused reviewing dashboards and apps because their city color changes from one KPI to the next, but I am avoiding assigning a color via the current chart properties admin. Would LOVE a dataset-level setting to lock colors consistently across cards that doesn't rely on me discreetly assigning a color to each and every city. I'm thinking of this as a column-level toggle (keep colors consistent y/n).
It's probably not a perfect idea, but curious what others think here.
Folder for Organizing Apps in App Studio
In App Studio, having a folder to group multiple apps from a single client would improve accessibility. This would make it easier to manage, navigate and find apps efficiently.
Show Configuration AND Notes panels on Magic ETL tile simultaneously
Currently, a user can see either the configuration of an ETL tile OR they can tab over to the notes section. It would be nice to see both views at once when writing notes on the configuration or editing the configuration based on the existing notes.
