If you want to power a card from data stored in a Google Sheet, you can use the Google Sheets Connector. There is also the Google Sheets Writeback Tile if you want your Google Sheet to be populated from a Domo Dataset, you can use the Google Sheets Writeback Tile.

You can use a dataflow / magic Etl to pivot your dataset so that you have the columns member and event and signed up and then filter for signed up = TRUE
You can then use that output dataset in your pie chart with the event as the series and do a count of the members

Alternatively you can combine both together and use a coalesce and NULLIF
COALESCE(NULLIF(TRIM(`fieldname `), ''), 0)

You could do something like this:
CASE WHEN TRIM(fieldname) = '' THEN 0
ELSE IFNULL(fieldname,0) END
This will check to see if it is blank or if it is null (which are two different things) and replace it with 0 if either are true. Otherwise, it will return the existing value.
