Re: Calculating a % based on multiple dates
You could add a case statement
Case when curdate() > End Date then 1 else … end
where the … is your formula from above
Re: Confused about the difference between pages, dashboards, and Domo Stories
In Domo a Dashboard is synonmous with a Page. A Card is synonymous with a chart / object on a page.
Pre 2019, Pages were organized into Collections of Cards.
In 2019, Domo developed a new feature called "Stories" and "Layouts" simultaneously in two different departments. They took the best of both features and created the feature referred to as "Stories" which is the more structured dashboard layout most of us are familiar with today.

IMHO Domo could tighten up on the language they use to talk about features in their product, but hopefully that all makes sense.
Re: Identify percent of people attending current event
You need to give your "registered" vs. "not registered" column a way to aggregate, otherwise it doesn't know how to collapse the different values. I think this should work (it's basically just wrapping your beastmode in a SUM and another CASE statement)
case
when sum(case when Year like '%2024%' then 1 else 0 end) > 0
then 'Registered'
Else 'Not Registered'
END
Re: Burndown chart
You can get the total for each year with a window function:
SUM(SUM(`Duration`)) OVER (PARTITION BY `Year`)
You can get a running total with another window function:
SUM(SUM(`Hours to Complete`)) OVER (PARTITION BY `Year` ORDER BY `Month`)
NOTE: Your Month needs to be an actual date or a numerical representation to be sorted properly; otherwise, it'll sort alphabetically and be incorrect.
Combining these two, you get your burn down:
SUM(SUM(`Duration`)) OVER (PARTITION BY `Year`) - SUM(SUM(`Hours to Complete`)) OVER (PARTITION BY `Year` ORDER BY `Month`)
Re: Combine multiple results into one row/cell
that's how I was able to do it MySql.
SELECT
`Customer Name`,
GROUP_CONCAT(`Customer States`) AS 'States'
FROM
`mb_test_Customer`
group by `Customer Name`
Re: Beast Mode is Inaccurate
I would re-write them to use IN and NOT IN like this:
CASE WHEN GL Group Code NOT IN (170, 175, 190) and Current Balance >=100000 THEN '01' ELSE 'N' END
CASE WHEN GL Group Code IN (170, 175, 190) and Current Balance <100000 and Current Balance > 0 THEN '02' ELSE 'N' END
Re: Anyone know how the default Security Role is determined?
Okta shouldn't be choosing the security setting.
In the admin settings you can determine which role is set as the default. It sounds like yours is set to privileged. Like you, most Domo admins probably want that to be participant instead. The Roles page, top right, gives you the dropdown menu to select your default role.
Re: Dynamic Weekly goals
You would need to combine the data in Magic ETL so that it is one dataset. You would have two input datasets: order detail and sales goals. I would use a formula tile on your order detail to get the first day of the week for each order. You can use the following formula to do this (replace dt with your actual order date field:
DATE_SUB(`dt`, INTERVAL (DAYOFWEEK(`dt`) - 1) DAY)
You would then use a group by tile to group the orders by the first day of the week. You can then use a join tile and do a left join with your goals on the left and join on the first day of the week field and likely your sku.
This should get the data in the shape that you want so that you can build a card off of it. I have a few videos (link below) that may help you if you are unfamiliar with any of those tiles.
Re: Workbench Schedule Jobs are not working .
@Ajita If you haven't already, try manually running the jobs to see if they are successful. If they still fail then I suggest the following:
- Verify that the Workbench user is still logged in. If that user recently had a changed or expired password, then you will need to re-authenticate in Workbench with the new credentials
- If your jobs use impersonation, check whether those credentials have changed as well
- Check that Workbench still has access to the data source and that the data has not moved or changed
Hopefully this points you in the right direction, but if you are still having issues feel free to share some Workbench logs from the failing jobs so we can look into it further.
Re: DDX Form Brick Only Updates If I put in two request.
@ColinHaze in order to sync data to the AppDB dataset, you can run:
collectionService.runSync();
I have noticed that sometimes it will not sync every time you run this command, but it does store the data and add it during the next run. I've also heard that AppDB datasets are only supposed to update as often as 15 min, so that may have something to do with it as well.
