Re: Can I know why the data is not grouping into single column in the pivot table?
Hello @scpradhan,
Consider using the SQUASH_WHITESPACE() function in the ETL process to address potential discrepancies like "Backpacks/Bags" vs "Backpacks/Bags " with space at the end.
Re: Increase number of dimensions allowed in the pivot table
Yes. DOMO needs to take this on priority as customers are using Excel sheet and they expect the as is in reporting tools.
Re: Time zone (bug)havior summary and questions
Re: How can I get the company names on a pivot table to show up on one line? One company is not.
My bad. SQUASH_WHITESPACE is only available in the formula tile in Magic ETL. Try this instead:
UPPER(TRIM(`company name`))
Make sure what is inside the ticks is your actual field name from your dataset.
Re: How can I get the company names on a pivot table to show up on one line? One company is not.
I would try troubleshooting by creating a beast mode that might help identify the issue. I would start by creating a beast mode that looks like this:
UPPER(SQUASH_WHITESPACE(companyname))
This will eliminate any extra spaces and convert the string to upper case as Domo is case-sensitive when evaluating differences between strings. Drag this beast mode into your rows field and remove the current one and see if things look like how they are supposed to.
Re: Extra 0 bar in bar chart with beast mode
This is because your beast mode is returning NULL for some records (where none of the conditions are met). You can filter out the NULLs and it will remove it from the chart.
Re: New Guy Here - What's the Point of Apps??
You are not alone in asking that question. The advantages of App Studio are improved branding and formatting control. It also has a better form module. It still lacks some features that dashboards have, but they are working on adding them. Many people wonder why they didn't just enhance dashboards with these features.
CA - IDEAS
It would be nice if the history tab wasn't just blank, I would like to see the last cache date and time and maybe even the last update of the table or view from Snowflake. Maybe even the last time Domo checked (may all be the same)
This would keep us from having to go check Snowflake to figure out if something didn't get pushed from a source, or if the view in CA matches Snowflake.
right now it is either a million questions because they think it isn't updating or a task to investigate because of switching through systems.
Re: Drill Path Indicator
big fat agree with both @MarkSnodgrass and @akeating -
this section from mark stands out to me as something that would greatly enhance our creation process:
Also, the designer of the dashboard has no way to quickly look at a dashboard and know what will happen with each card on the dashboard unless they edit the dashboard and check the interaction of each card, which is a very tedious process.
it also might help create more engagement for some of our new users who are uncertain as to what drill-downs actually are and how they work
