Re: Blank Schedule Reports?
@kaybee I have not encountered this before, but these are the first things that come to mind:
- Do you have any time-based filters that could be interfering with the schedules of your report or data refresh? In other words, if your card filtered to "Today" and is refreshed daily at noon, then your card would show no data between midnight and 11:59 am.
- Do you have any PDP rules on your dataset?
If neither of these are the case, then I suggest you contact Domo support about this issue.
Re: Count number of character occurrence in string
You can calculate the length of the string, remove the character you want, recalculate the length and take the difference.
LENGTH(`Color`) - LENGTH(REPLACE(`Color`, ',', '')) + 1
Re: Minimum reporting size?
Can you apply an aggregated filter to have count of your metric be greater than or equal to 10?
You can set the filter in each of your drill downs to be the minimum value you're looking at.
Re: Hide/filter out cards on dashboard display
In terms of filters for a new dashboard, you can embed page filters in a URL on a table card, I've used that a good amount to "jump" to a new dashboard with certain filters set:
Re: Text unique values - only count for each option
@zgranperc With your Audience field having multiple options in each row, you're going to need to do a beast mode for each option. First one would be:
SUM(case when 'Audience' like '%C-Suite%' then 1 else 0 end)
Then just repeat, looking for the corresponding option for each one. You'll need to be careful on the Manager one and use:
'Audience' like '%Manager%' and 'Audience' not like '%Below%'
Re: want to have day/day last year numbers
@julia_wang it would be helpful to know what columns you have on the axis of your pivot table. (post a screen shot).
also please post the beast mode you've written and include data structure... makes it easier to guess where you're going wrong.
Re: How to create a filter to capture the end of month
build a date dimension where you have one row for each day of the year. then assign the week_of_year to each date. then it'll be easier to make these comparisons.
"build a date dimension" in SQL is a google-able term, so you should be able to implement that using MySQL dataflows.
Re: 'Lookup' in Beast Mode
@utkarsh please articulate in business language what you are trying to accomplish. @MichelleH is correct, you can probably accomplish what you need using Window functions (the LAG() function) in particular, but to assess whether it would always be appropriate to use LAG it's important to understand your use case.
Re: Combining data into one pie chart
@louiswatson you could have significantly simplified your ETL by using a FORMULA tile with a CASE statement.
The reason why this approach is cleaner is the CASE statement allows you to use an ELSE clause. When you split out your data using FILTER tiles as you have, if you miss a new filter value you exclude it from your output. Which is usually an accident.
Also, by using a CASE statement the logic for all your new labels is gathered into one place instead of spread across several tiles.
