Data Selector Filter: Default Value
Hi,
currently there is no way set a default value. For example, my date selector card is part of a dashboard were I want it's value to be "Yesterday" or "Last Week". Is there a timeline, if any, of when this feature will be provided?
Date Selector Card - Default Value
Does anybody know if there is a way to set the default value on a Date Selector Card?
My situation is that we have a few YOY comparison cards on the dashboard at the day grain. Most users look at the dashboard for the previous day and also current/previous week. If I set the card to current quarter or current year then the interactive date filter finds no data for previous dates. Showing comparison charts by day for the current year are ugly at best. I know I could change the grain to monthly but then users would have to change the grain on each card as they view them which defeats the purpose of the interactive filtering.
Assuming I cannot set a default date/date range then would I need to create multiple cards grouped at the different date grains? How do you handle this scenario?
Thank you.
Re: Dataflow loads in preview, but not in actual dataset?
@MB_Dem By default any dataflow output datasets are owned by the user who owns the dataflow, even if both users have access to all the input datasets. The owner of the dataflow will need to share both output datasets with you.
Re: Dataflow loads in preview, but not in actual dataset?
does the user you’re logged in as have permissions to those output datasets?
Re: Filtering data automatically for a specific Monday in a Domo dataset
Here's some KB articles for you to reference:
Re: Calculating only the distinct values for many duplicate sessions
You can use a fixed function for this:
AVG(MAX(`duration`) FIXED (BY `session`))
This will take the maximum of the duration for each session identifier and then average each of those values out. As the duration should be the same across all of the same sessions this is essentially deduping your durations.
Re: Filtering data automatically for a specific Monday in a Domo dataset
You can utilize the DataSet Copy connector to run every Monday to take make a copy of your original dataset and set the update method to append. It will have the BATCH_LAST_RUN field when the snapshot is taken and you can use that in your chart.
Re: Multiple Event Types on a Calendar Card
Thanks @Stuck, see if there's an existing feature request to upvote otherwise would be a good one to add to 'Ideas' as the calendar chart functionalities can definitely be improved.

Re: Need help with Date Range/ Period to Date
I would suggest using the variables feature to build this functionality. You can use the radio button control in the variable to have your different options that can be selected. Then, build a beast mode that would perform the correct date operation based on the variable selected using case statements. Then, drag this into your filters on the card so it will filter based on the selected variable.
Re: String to date
@damen I'd suggest using the STR_TO_DATE function in the formula tile. Since there may be 5 or 6 digits, you can use the LPAD function to add a leading zero if the length is less than 6.
STR_TO_DATE(LPAD(`DUE DATE`,6,'0'),'%m%d%y')
Here is the KB article with all the date format specifiers to use with the STR_TO_DATE function: https://domo-support.domo.com/s/article/360043429953?language=en_US
