Big Time Need for Date Variables:
Set the default to MYSQL functions like Current_Date. I would guess that 80% of users would prefer this to be the default for a date variable.
Hiding of filter funnel and pdp shield
is there a way to hide the filter funnel and the pdp shield? i have several cards where these icons block the bottom left cell in a data table. If there is not is there a way to justify the data in the data table to the left?

For another option:
STR_TO_DATE(`y` + 1, '%Y') - 1
'%Y' - defaults to the first of the year
+1 Add a year
-1 Subtracts a day
y here is the year in integer format.
In other words, it's converting the given year to be the first day of the next year then subtracting 1 day to get the last day of the given year

Not sure if it was a typo or not... but you have some commas in strange places. Try this:
STR_TO_DATE(CONCAT(`YEAR`,'-12-31'),'%Y-%m-%d')

yes, you can use the HTML table card to display this. You would create a beast mode that has the necessary HTML code to display the image, like this:
CONCAT('<img src="',`Profile Picture URL`,'" style="width:128px;height:128px"></>')
In this example, the full URL to the image is in the field called Profile Picture URL, but if you just have the ID, you can build the URL in the concatenation as well.

Thank you very much! This works like a charm.
Two additional minor issues have arisen.
First - is there a way to set the default variable value to the 'Max Sales Date' from the dataset? (the following suggestion does not work). Currently I would have to go in and manually change it every time there is an update.
Second - now there is the variable control and the default date picker both in the dashboard. Is there a way to remove/hide the default date picker? The variable control overrides the default one, but it still might create confusion for the users.

This is a great idea and much needed for us. Currently we have found choosing a specific date range on the global date selector breaks all period over period charts. This is very confusing for the users. As well as the options listed by @DuncanDomo if a specific range is chosen then the option to choose a compare to range should also be available.

Radio Button Filter Card - Set the default selection?
Hello,
I have a Radio Button Filter Card on my page. I'd like a default value to be selected on this card. However, I can't seem to find a property that enables that.
When i use Page filters to set a default selection the user can clear the filter, or filter on multiple values (which defeats the purpose of the Radio Button Filter Card, the data only makes sense if a single value is filtered on).
Any advice?

Data Selector Filter: Default Value
Hi,
currently there is no way set a default value. For example, my date selector card is part of a dashboard were I want it's value to be "Yesterday" or "Last Week". Is there a timeline, if any, of when this feature will be provided?
