Re: Heatmap Time Sorting Issue
I find it best to use a numeric sort for the heat map. I would create a beast mode for the day of the week that returns the number (1-7) for the weekday, I would also do beast mode that returns a numeric value for the time.
Re: Formatting a table
@NathanDorsch Here are some settings you can use to get the formatting closer to your screenshot:
- Apply color rules to subtotals under Chart Properties > General > Apply Color Rules to Total and Subtotals
- Make subtotals bold under Chart Properties > Subtotal Rows > Subtotal Font Style
- Remove the “Count x/y” under Chart Properties > Subtotal Rows > Hide Counts
Re: Number of Posts Published
@gump Try a COUNT(DISTINCT 'Blog Post') beast mode for your Y-axis. This will count each unique blog post only once for each month.
Re: Count Distinct with Fixed?
@Domomon DISTINCT doesn't work with window functions, and I believe that's no exclusive to Domo, as I think that goes for MySQL and SQL Server as well. I've seen that one solution is to use DENSE_RANK() instead of COUNT(DISTINCT ), but that does take nulls into account, so just keep that in mind. If that doesn't work, you'll need to use an ETL and use a GROUP BY and joins.
Re: Amazon Redshift Connector cannot Authenticate
Hi Anthony, did you ever get this one figured out? (no screenshot was attached)
There are a solid handful of settings that need to be handled properly. Did your Redshift DBA review all of the steps in the power up guide? Was SSH identified if needed? Best advice is to double check each component of the setup and try to mimic everything that works in the Amazon Redshift Console.
I've been lucky enough to have assistance from some good DBAs who configured the Redshift environments that I've connected to...definitely takes persistence & attention to detail.

Re: Success Rate %
Hi @louiswatson try this:
count(case when `Status` = 'Application Granted' then `Status` end)/count(`Determination Date`)
Re: Is it possible to count a value depending on other values?
@eduardon A case statement inside a count function should give you what you need:
count(distinct case when `Status` = 'Active' then concat(`Month`,`Client`,`Country`) end)
Re: Custom Sort in bar charts
@Cintia Is `Snapshot` already being used on the X-axis of your bar chart? If so, you shouldn't need to sort by date since Domo should already know to sort dates chronologically. If you are sorting by other fields as well, that could potentially mess with your date sorting.
Re: Custom Sort in bar charts
@Cintia Both of them MIN. Changing the aggregation to MIN ensures that your data is sorted based on the value that you assigned in the beast modes (1, 2, 3, etc.), whereas COUNT only considers whether there is a value but does not care what the value is.
Re: Daily Dataset Update via Python fails on first run each day
Have you tried updating the dataset's schema before you upload the new dataset?
