Ad-hoc Group Types
We still have a few ad-hoc group types In Groups under Governance. Based on the definition taken from the URL below ad-hoc are legacy groups before open and closed groups were released.
Are ad-hoc groups similar to "Closed" groups where only the owner can invite other members?
I assume but want to make sure.
Thank you in advance.

Ad Hoc groups don't have an owner. It's more a kin to an open group where others can add users to the group.
You can edit the group type and convert it to either Open, Dynamic or Closed from Ad Hoc but can't change it back.
